  1. Actually I think this is kinda cool, everyone should post up pics of the non-jeep projects in their lives... Maybe I should just start up a build thread for the mustang, no?
  2. Yeah you were right down the street from my dads house, 139th and Nall
  3. Yeah I35 is horrible, i have to rush out to lawrence after school if I don't want to die... Its the only time where I wished I had an auto
  4. Hey, hey, easy, Kansas drivers are worse. :clapping:
  5. http://www.toyotasimulator.com/ Was refered to me by a toyota guy
  6. So I dug up some pics of the day I brought it home, was October 2006 Its covered in many years of dirt, full of wasp nests, and if you look closely at the dirt you can see cat paw tracks... Oh yeah and I loved the first gen broncos in the background, he had three, and would part with none of em. This is how we drove it home... All four tires held air for three years afterwards. One might have been original :hmm: All stock 351c 2v Ugly bumper guards and all Oh and this is my favorite pic of a 71-73 mustang, it's what I'm shooting for
  7. Sounds like a plan
  8. I think if it were well done, it would look good
  9. O'Reillys sells em
  10. I keep hearing about this, it was all over the news, but I was at work and couldnt watch :(
  11. Id keep the 6BT, its smoother... and more excessive torque
  12. No, but man that sucks... What ive found is that most decent MJs don't last long on Craigslist, unless theyre rediculously priced... I called the PO of mine within 30 mins of the listing
  13. Thanks for the comments, ill try to get some more pics soon
  14. :typing: So I just figured I'd post a couple of pics of my "other" project car and see what you guys thought. Sorry its pretty dirty in the pics, and one is kinda dark. This is right after I got the new BFGs put on (still have the blue stuff on them) and some 15x9 aluminum turbine wheels I picked up for cheap, to me they look like they belong on the car. This is from just the other day when I got the deck lid remounted after welding in the new trunk floor. My buddies want me to put batman stickers on the side of the car. :brows: Story behind the car: I have had it for three years, doing a very slow resto job on it. From the tags I can tell that the car has never been registered since 1980, my stepdad and I rescued it from its tomb (barn) aired up the 20+ year old bias ply tires, and towed it home 2 hours on a two wheel car dolly. Specs:1972 Ford (get over it) Mustang fastback. Original 130,000 mile 351 cleveland 2v motor, now with edelbrock performer 4bbl intake and holley 750 carb, hedman headers, msd box, coil, duraspark ignition. Factory FMX transmission and 9 inch rearend (2.75 gearing!). All new suspension, high rate coils, leafs, bigger sway bars, etc. Next on the list: Ive got a spare cleveland motor I'm putting together, with a couple turbos I'm getting for free. Its gonna be magical  T56 6 speed transmission, and a regear with detroit truetrac. Then someday bodywork and paint....

    wow

I'm struggling on deciding on an opinion for this truck... Some people put WAY too much faith in a D30
  16. If thats how they did the wheel, just imagine how they rigged the pedals
  17. Its a jeep, a valvetrain noise is the norm
  18. Well in all actuality, you should actually lose power running 91 octane. Higher octane fuels burn cooler, and are less likely to predetonate. This allows for higher compression ratios and or advanced timing which both help to make power. If your engine has neither of these than the cool burning ways of 91 octane will actually hurt power a little. Many newer performance cars are designed to run on both regular and premium and gain power with premium. This is because they utilize knock sensors to detect pinging and so advance or retard timing as necessary. (I do not believe the renix system is desgined to do this, regardless of the knock sensor)
  19. Thats why Id go with a yellowtop, theyve got good cranking power and are deep cycle as well
  20. An optima yellowtop is a good choice, although some members on here have had some issues
  21. Ok in that case it was probably just regular low grade gas, not E85. In that case id fill her up with some premium gas, and that should fix your problem, and always go with at least 87 from now on
  22. Just for future reference, whenever starting a motor that has been sitting a while, its always a good idea to pull the plugs and shoot some wd40 in the cylinders. That will help break up any rust that may have built up between the rings and cylinder wall so the rings are less likely to seize... I should've done that in the 'stang, 20+ years of sitting and I fired it up into a world of issues. :wall:
  23. But you NEED to get the E85 out of the system ASAP, right now its eating away at everything in the system. But I don't think I've made myself clear, If you did in fact put in E85, than octane isnt your problem. E85 has way more octane than what the engine was designed for, and theres nothing immediately wrong with that. The reason you have no power now is that the fuel system isnt capable of supplying the necessary volume of fuel to the cylinders, and even if it could, the ECU has no idea what to do, it is calibrated for gasoline not an alcohol based fuel. But once you have siphoned out the system and filled with regular 87 octane, I would just flip the key on a couple times to clear the lines of the E85, instead of firing it up.
  24. I would try to siphon out as much fuel as possible from the tank, and fill up with 87 octane fuel, I never recommend octane booster, id use either chevron techron inj cleaner or sea foam
  25. The problem isnt the octane, E85 is about 100 octane, it is 85 percent alchohol, but the fuel system needs to supply 30% more fuel, and the system isnt capable of doing that, also wrong programming
