  1. Thats my 92, I was running 32" BFG KM's on it
  2. The actual height of a SOA has a lot of variables. My 92 was SOA'd an was sitting at about 5" an sat perfectly level. 2wd leafs give a little less lift than 4wd leafs, same with older sagging leaves giving less lift. Also, the height of the perches could change the net height slightly. Over all the general is about 5 to 6.5 inches. Truck sounds like its gonna be pretty cool. Welcome to the club
  3. In the little over 2 years I've had my license I've owned six vehicles, all Jeeps. At one point I had 3 in my driveway. I almost bought something non jeep a few months back, but ended up buying another XJ. So yea, I go through cars like water too
  4. Sam, where did you pick up the export tails from. I like the looks of them
  5. Very nice truck, and you can scratch the SYE off your list. Comanches are long enough that they won't need a SYE until you get a lot higher than 4 inches, so that makes your project a little easier
  6. Was wondering if anyone had a list of the colors the eliminators came from the factory as. I've begun tear down of the 89 in prep for the HO swap, an figured I'd start looking into paint colors. I'm interested in both the renix and HO era colors. I've scene red like mine, white, black, dark blue, and dark green. Any others that anyone knows of? Any input is greatly appreciated
  7. :agree: Also, put an autozone alternator in my old XJ, and ended up replacing it a week later
  8. No one makes hitches for comanches anymore. The only place to find them is from someone selling one. Depending on where you are I have one for sale in the classifieds.
  9. As jim said, the ports don't line up between the older and newer motors. Also, you can't run "true" duals on a 4.0 as there is only one exhaust manifold
  10. If its a late 89, then the AX is standard equipment. Mid 89 is when they did the switch from the BA to the AX
  11. What year is the truck?
  12. Yea, steelies are cheap. Alloys are what get expensive. Thats why a lot of jeepers run steelies, cause there cheap an strong
  13. Those are pretty nice, but you can get cragars for 10 bucks less a wheel, an I think they look better also  http://www.summitracing.com/search/bran ... toview=SKU
  14. One thing to say about the interior
  15. I would buy it just for the interior  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1986-JEE ... 3a61a51812
  16. Not mine anymore, but if its still as rust free as it was when I had it its a pretty good deal http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/2128183609.html
  17. The rusty's intake is garbage in my opinion. As pete stated, no heat shield so all your doing pulling in hot air from the engine. The only reason I had one on my 92 was that I had no air box, and had a cone filter lying around. You get what you pay for
  18. XJ an MJ perches are set up differently. If I remember correctly MJ perches sit more inward, so stock XJ perches won't be in the right position
  19. 5.33 gears are pretty deep. How big of tires do you plan to run? Do you plan to run this on the street? If so your top speed is going to be quite low
  20. :agree: I was so stuck on the red bumpers I didn't even notice that
  21. Why did they paint both bumpers red :hmm:
  22. :agree: On the yellow top. The one in my XJ got it home twice with no alternator. It bit the bullet after that though, I was pretty pleased with that
  23. Don't remember who it is, but thats a members MJ
