Heater blower motor not coming on
dustyinthedirt replied to dustyinthedirt's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
okay so i looked at the connection and it seems to "look" fine. The heater does not come on in high as well. I will check the ground and the voltage tomorrow and update. Where is the best place to check the voltage at? -

Heater blower motor not coming on
dustyinthedirt posted a topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I am working on a 89 SWB 4.0 5 speed. I just converted to open cooling. but i do not believe the motor was coming on before this, because the heater switches were already pushed over to heat and def frost and nothing has been coming on. I have checked the fuses and replaced most of them. just for the knowledge of knowing they were all good. I only had a fuse checker and i when i stuck it to the back of the fuse that is labeled blower it lit up to say the fuse is getting power. I am not sure where to go to next and see if the blower is getting power. I got aggravated and walked away to search for problems on here. I am gonna go through my manuel and find out where the connections are. Any help is appreciated. -

Short Conversation with a Comanche seller on CL
dustyinthedirt replied to Reddout's topic in The Pub
Sometimes people are just dicks on CL for no reason. I used to work with a guy who tried to buy stuff off of there all the time and he would NEVER offer them close to what they were asking and then when they wouldnt take his offer he would be a smartass and say well since you won't take my bid i hope you enjoy trading it for some crap on here. People i have delt with are usually already defensive when you text them. and sounds to me like the seller was kinda young and didnt know as much as he thought. I'm sure we all have had a moment when we got defensive when somebody told us we were wrong. And we got a little pissy about it haha -

I'm not real happy with how mine is against the firewall mounted where the old pressure bottle was. any suggestions on that? since it does go along with this thread. -
Open system leak

I think that you should have a over flow bottle that can catch that. https://www.amazon.com/Crown-Automotive-52003213-Coolant-Bottle/dp/B00BA7A0G6 You will need a cap to. sold separate of course. https://www.amazon.com/Crown-Automotive-J3223202-Coolant-Bottle/dp/B00B8X67FU try hooking that up and see if it helps -
I havent decided on what i want yet but this does seem good

Superduty MJ

So i believe the motor has ether been out or replaced in this truck. The wiring harness is just kinda laying in place not in any of the clips like it should be. there is Halfway tightened bolts everywhere. I was trying to make everything look nice and neat and i found this This is for the CPS it was laying against the manifold. Lazy bastards! I got it to start after giving it a little squirt of starting fluid. then it sat there and idled perfectly I cut it off and let it sit for a few minutes and then tried to start it again and it fired right up no problems. Is the fuel pump maybe not giving enough pressure? -
I have not converted to open cooling yet. I am planning on it though. The temp gauge gets up there in the red pretty quick. I know theres a little air in the lines but the top radiator hose is not moving fluid at all. is this the water pump? Also i think someone put stop leak in it cause the fluid in the reservoir looks like it has some grainy sawdust looking stuff in it. this stuff was foamy feeling. What is it though?!

i looked at that one. awesome thanks

Superduty MJ
dustyinthedirt replied to dustyinthedirt's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Ha its a MONSTER! I got all the old gas out i could and put fresh premium in and a bottle of sea-foam, After messing with fuel lines that had the band clamps on them but they were just dangling there. It fired up after a few minutes. Idles at around 700 rpm kinda rough but not bad. Still smoked a little. I drove it down the drive way and it acted like it was in four low. the steering was a little stiff and it idled up extremely fast in first i let out of the gas and it back fired. I laid underneath it to see if maybe the lever on the transfer case was in a different place then the shiftier suggested. I compared it to the placement of the other MJ i had there and it looked the same. Also i believe there is air in the coolant lines. the temp gauge went to the red and i was still able to put my hand on the thermostat housing and able to touch the head momentarily nether where extremely hot. Hoping to trade for open cooling
