Windshield wipers not working

Not a sound...didn’t think to check the relay -
The windshield wipers in my 89 are not working. I have checked the fuses and nothing is blown. The wipers will not do do anything on any setting. I can still click the high beams on and off but I figured that was on a different switch. Any help? How do I test to make sure the motor is good?

Smokers vent windows
dustyinthedirt replied to dustyinthedirt's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Awesome. Do I just cut the electric motor wires to be able to hook them to the battery and get the motors to go down? -
I have found some smokers windows (notsure ifthats what the moveable triangle windows in the doors are called). They are a cherokee in a pickapart yard. The doors are electric windows and the panels are crap. My questions is: Is it easier to remove the window and restall it in my doors? Or install the manuel window regulators in the other doors?

Mine are from a Volvo I believe. I did the injector as I swapped the engine so I don’t know what kind of difference it made. But for $60 including shipping i figures I would try it -

That truck is beautiful. I plan on doing some of the same stuff except I picked a set of 3/4 ton axles and am gonna do a axle swap. The doors I would like to keep the manuel windows in it but have the full glass like the 97+. -
If you become interested in a 5 speed let me know. I am looking to sell my daily

Hahaha I am planning on repainting it. I would love to have it the anvel grey color. But that is far in the future. Going to look at a front clip from a 97+ this weekend. Then will at least spray it all the same color. I would love to do the doors to now but that may have to wait. I remember there ring a thread about using 97+ windows in the original doors with very little alterations, they appear to be have he same without the smokers widow. (My little corner windows do not turn like a smokers window or I would keep them)Anybody know if this will work? -

when i got the engine and head back from the builder, The builder missed a broken manifold bolt so i got the try my hand at extracting one for the first time. Pretty proud of that little trophy. I picked up a set of 2 door xj seats from a guy on CL for $30!! (don't mind the wet spots on it from the dog thinking they are for her) -

Also finally got the motor back from the builder. Only took 8 months and a lot of harassment to get him on it. But lesson learned..the hard way. Had to have it bored .04 over because some one had ridge honed it at some point and had it all out of wack. I put it back together with most of the original stuff that came off of The motor 8 moths before and had trouble getting it to start. It wasn't getting spark from the coil. I then went back and took loose everything that was butt connected and soldered it back together. Pulled number 5 plug out to see if i was getting any spark to the plug. Turned it over and VROOOOOOOMMMMM!! scared the $#!& outta me when it started. While breaking in the cam it was running super rich causing the ebay specail header i had just got and welded my o2 bung (pictured below) in to turn bright glowing red, it was just open header no exhaust. I then swapped out the stock injectors for the 4 port Bosch injectors. Then emailed Jeff at stroked jeeps and got a 60mm throttle body. Now to tiddy all the wiring up cause its a hectic mess under the hood at the moment and its driving me insane -

Alright so I’ve been working on the truck hot and heavy and haven’t posted any pics so I'm about flood it. First Is the finished rocker replacement. Which went great. Didn’t have much warping from heat I jumped around a lot. I blew some big holes in the old metal at first with my mig till I got it dialed in. The layer of body filler on here is really thin. -
Not getting spark after rebuild
dustyinthedirt replied to dustyinthedirt's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Alright I got it to run!!!! After I redid all the connections and cleaned the grounds it fired right up. Actually fired up on the second rotation of the engine with one of the spark plugs pulled out. I had not tried to start it since I changed all of those connections I wanted to wait till i had a extra hand to read the colt meter. My co worker came by and took one of the plugs out and asked me to turn it over to see if it wasn't getting spark and bam! Now she's purring like a walrus. Thank you for all the help!! -

they were butt connected and i went back last night as i was following the harness and anything that looked sketchy or even butt connected i soldered and shrink wrapped. My meter shows i have voltage coming from the battery. -
Not getting spark after rebuild

Hahaha thanks for worrying Crusier. I had most of these new sensor already before getting the motor back from the builder. Which this is off topic but it took the guy almost 6 months to do?! it got machined within the first week then set on a stand in the corner under a cover while these other big cubic inch motors where in and out in the same week. I guess i wasnt trying to go fast enough or something Back to the problem. I went back over the whole harness from where it leaves the fire wall to the passenger side of the engine bay. I do not see any wires that have missed. I got a newer meter from harbor freight (mine was found/bought at a pick a part a few years back) and i must not be using it right because no matter what setting i am on when i spin it over i am getting nothing. now i know this is a useless post, i am just trying to keep everybody updated that has offered help. I am gonna ask a co worker to come over and help me figure this out. I just wanna hear it run!! -
Not getting spark after rebuild

I replaced the new cps with the old one. And nothing. I do not have a ohm meter and my multimeter doesn't do amps for some reason. So I'm on my way to but one. I had a Mechainical oil psi gauge hooked up. And thought that could cause problems with the sending unit not being hooked up so I replaced that as well -

Not getting spark after rebuild
dustyinthedirt replied to dustyinthedirt's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The engine is from another Comanche i bought same year and model. Sorry for the confusion. I just stripped the old block with the JB weld on it and put all that stuff onto the rebuilt motor since the old motor was actually running good just busted. The cps is new. it is not a high altitude one, nether was the old one. I haven't tried reinstalling the old cps yet. Could the cps be bad from the factory? I cannot find any loose connectors or grounds but i possibly could be looking in the wrong places. I'm sure its something simple i am missing but i am udderly stumped The only things i replaced are the injectors to the four port, knock sensor, o2 sensor and the cps. everything else is what came off of the old motor straight to the rebuilt -
The truck was running fine but the block had JB weld on the block. After the install I am not getting spark from the coil to the distributor. We switched out the coil as well as what i am suspecting is the module underneath it, from my current daily which i know is good. Still nothing. We used a test light and went from my daily (which is the exact same engine) and tested the same wires on both trucks. They were both similar in responses. I marked the picture so it was easier to explain what we have tested so far to make sure. we have power to the red, ground to the purple, nothing on the brown, ground on the blue, and nothing on the green. the red had power on both trucks. the purple had ground on both trucks. both had nothing on brown The brown has a connector where it goes from two to one under the shrinkwrap on one truck.. i didnt even check that on the other. the blue on my daily pulsed while the truck was running and one the other it stayed solid while the key was turning over. we used a spark detector on the wire from the coil to the distrib. and from the distrib to the 1 cylinder. nothing on each Any advice guys? I am stumped. Thanks in advance for any help Edit: we also checked the fuses and made sure the alternator was hooked up correctly.
