  1. No hate here for raising thrrads from the dead. I figure if someone can learn from it, it's all good. I just got an electronic copy of the FSM. I'll look at it and see what I can come up with..
  2. Get to tractor supply co and buy a stall mat. 6X4 and runs around 40 bucks. It's pretty thick rubber, and you have to cut for the wheel arches, but it works. :)
  3. I'm with Cruiser on this one. Do frequent changes using MMO for a while. That should take care of things.
  4. Nice! Thanks Hornbrod. I DO have a MPFI 2.5 XJ. The TB should bolt on, right?
  5. I know!!! His XJ is white, just like my MJ. No respray needed to bolt on the parts. :D
  6. Wheel spacers can take care of the rear end bolt pattern if you wish to go 5x5...besides, the rear needs to be replaced anyway, right?
  7. Hello all. A buddy of mine rolled his 2000 XJ 4.0 recently. The rear is hashed, but the interior and front part ia fairly clean. He's letting me have free rein with the wreck before the insurance company crushea it. Any parts I should snag that would fit my 87 MJ? I plan on taking the header panel, front bumper, skid plates, front fenders, hood, and the bucketa and center console. Any other thongs I should look for? Doors, perhaps?
  8. The SR20DET is a SICK mill! I don't think I can be of much help as far as specs go, but I'm very interested in seeing how this turns out. As far as front end swaps, go to your nearest pick and pulls and grab you a beam off of a WJ. Look for the ones with Akebono calipers. Free twin piston brake upgrade!
  9. BTW, how DOES a white man drive?
  10. I used and abused an open cased D35 under my ZJ with a stroker. The best part about it? It was under the truck when I got it and failed spectacularly. :) A LSD 8.8 lives under that truck now. I'd never go back to a D35.
  11. Same thing happened to me. Swapped my MC and all is well.
  12. I changed the fluid to 10-30 synthetic on my AX4 when I got it. I've been DD my MJ for almost a year now, have towed and hauled over 4,000lbs with it various times and have not had one issue. I have an AX5 waiting in the wings for when I throw in my 4wd system.
  13. I didn't bench bleed mine and it's been running great. I gravity bled it once installed (to get all the old, dirty fluid out), then did the "normal" bleeding of the system just to make sure.
  14. Are you talking about the clutch master cylinder, or the brake MC?
  15. It's horrible. We have "caliche" down in my part of Texas. It's basically limestone dust and chunks that have gotten re-cemented. When dry, it's hard as rock and you get pretty good traction on it. Wet, think super slippery clay that DOES NOT clean off of treads and is almoat impossible to take off of your undercarriage.
  16. Best way to wheel in mud? Don't.
  17. Good work! I used it on the inside of my MJ. It's been holding up great.
  18. AX15 like Dasbulliwagen said. If you're not afraid of modding and do a lot of offroading, a SM series tranny from a chevy can be made to work. http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/transmission-drivetrain/1411-mating-the-sm420-to-an-amc-four-cylinder-granny-gearing/
  19. Thanks a bunch, guys. I got it running in a snap! I swapped the master out, bled the system, and it's running smoooooth now. I had replaced my clutch line prior to this. I think the black stuff in the fluid was what was left of the MC's blown seals.
  20. I don't know what the assembly looks like..How did you fix it?
  21. Would the slave fail without leaking?
  22. Hello all. I'm having clutch issues...again. It started this morning on my commute to work. The pedal started getting softer, and I had to keep pushing it further down for it to disengage. On my drive back, I was having to push it all the way to the floor. Going up my driveway, I pretty much lost the clutch. There are no leaks, I'm not missing any fluid, but the fluid in the reservoir is BLACK. I changed my slave cylinder a few months ago, btw. Do you guys think it's the master cylinder that let go this time? Thanks in advance!
  23. Unbaffled tanks?
  24. Yep. XJ guys seem to just accept that an XJ that is wheeled hard and not caged/plated WILL tear.
  25. Nice. That DOES seem easier.
