  1. Not my cup of tea but the rear axle, lift and interior might make it with it just in parts. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1143587
  2. I reached out to the seller to see if they'd let it go for cheaper, if so I may take it and strip what I want and see how quick I can get rid of it. It would be nice to have a decent amount of renix era parts as spares lol.
  3. That would be sweet. PM me what you'd want for them and maybe itd be worth it if I can't find anything at the JY. I'm going to probably hit another one this weekend and see if I can get lucky.
  4. HAHA, funny. Yeah, I found a 95 XJ last year with the tranny and 4wd and it had been sitting for years and I got it for $300. it had power nothing and was rough but def worth the drive and trailer home. Good luck finding what you're lookin for!
  5. Yeah... I'm leaning that way as well, its just getting tougher and tougher to find late 80s XJs that are direct swaps for those kinds of parts... JYs here suck and are usually picked clean. The two closest only have 3 pre 97 XJs combined and I really don't want to do the door swap as I like the original interior of the MJ (aside from the center console, which i did swap).
  6. This isn't really a tech question... So I'm looking at an 88 XJ that is across town, listed that it runs and drives, but needs ujoints and has 243K miles on it. It looks to be in good shape, and what I'm really interested in about it is that it has power locks, windows, the silverish dash and all of the emblems my MJ needs. At $500 would it be worth it to buy the XJ, use the parts I need, part out the XJ and sell the remainder to the local JY (maybe $75) or just keep checking JYs and CL for the XJ parts I need? I'm torn cause I also need to order a custom driveshaft and SYE for the MJ and that's about $500 as well. Thoughts and input appreciated. ps. I'm also kinda torn cause the wife'll probably have a fit if I buy ANOTHER parts jeep haha
  7. That's the exact reaction I had LOL. Thanks for sharing the pic, love ferrets!
  8. My 88 had an issue with condensation when the AC was on. It would drip and any passenger would be startled by cold water. Worth checking.
  9. I don't believe it is still going on, but give them a call and ask about the springs. They said they'd be willing to make up a set for me last year when there wasn't a group buy going on, I just decided to go a different route and do an SOA.
  10. Funny... the radio pic in the Ad is also here: http://caraudiotips.blogspot.com/2013/01/97-01-jeep-cherokee-double-din-car.html where the guy said he installed it in an XJ...
  11. I'm pretty shocked no one sells a chrome cover... I looked and it's kind of surprising...
  12. Works well for me, perhaps I bought the pro version without ads, but it's nice to have a photo upload method from my phone without having to worry about which forums support photos in what way shape or form.
  13. Best bet is to hit a local junkyard. Most will only charge you a few bucks for them if that. Just use 3M adhesive like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BO9L00/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1RFUSU5QPFCHI&colid=7UJCWCYYTYUC
  14. Did something similar once... Shattered a D35 axle (shocker) early when I started wheeling and wrapped copper wire around a rod for a jack and hooked it to the battery a few times to magnetize it. Did a great job pulling the lil pieces out of the tubes...
  15. If you're on facebook, there's a guy about 20 miles south of me who's selling 3 MJ taillights (2L, 1R) for $25 each. I thought about getting them and reselling them, but I don't wanna make the trip to get them since traffic around here blows and it would take me about 2 hours to make the round trip. Search in Fredericksburg, VA, maybe he'd be willing to ship them.
  16. Man, those are SWEET, but I gotta say for $177 I think i'd just glue the Jeep logo to my 8.8. If you've got the coin, by all means though, very cool.
  17. Well done! Thanks for all the hard work!
  18. Hey Thanks Alexia, and please don't apologize, I know from experience how tough it is to handle a full time job and a volunteer gig with a popular forum. Thanks for all your hard work and keeping on top of our asks! Tim
