  1. The comanche accessories guide lists it as H. Brandon I suppose I should re-phrase that. Never seen one anywhere else but in a brochure... What I meant by picture was that outside of the dealer propaganda, I have never seen one in the real world, pics or in person. Rob L.
  2. Do you have any pictures of your truck? What is your interior like? Welcome! Rob L.
  3. Thank you. Keep me posted. I don't care if it doesn't work... Just another one of those cool things I'd like to have in stock. I've never even seen one on a real truck, in pictures or in person... Rob L.
  4. Did he say it had one? I would pay for shipping on the entire thing if it ended up being it, and you weren't interested... Rob L.
  5. Thanks for keeping us posted! Rob L.
  6. So the first time you sold the MJ was to upgrade? Rob L.
  7. Mr. Youngins to you. Rob L. :D
  8. Not to poop on your parade, but did they remember that the MJ/XJ flywheel isn't flat? It has a convex or concave shape to it that it needs to retain. I forget which... Without it there are usually operational errors. I hope the machine shop knew about this. Rob L. :smart:
  9. What he said. Rolled MJ=Stash of parts. Rob L.
  10. This touching moment brought to you by The Comanche Club. Rob L.
  11. Sample only Ben. Sample only. Rob L. :D
  12. Removing the month and year won't affect the price... It's basically just the material, and Spencer wasn't splitting hairs over cost. I kinda like leaving it in, so that if someone see's it on the street, they can come here, and search our archives for the date and find the truck that led them here. Rob L.
  13. Well, I just got back from a trip to the local library... Had some time to kill before my tax appointment, so I wandered over to the archives and started flipping through old year books. I found all the normal relatives, then I walked past the stack of Microfilm from the local paper... It then dawned on me to look up the day I was born, Aug 3rd, 1986. I got the roll out, fed it in, and started searching... I came up empty for my exact date, but on August 1st's paper, I found a few exciting entries. Looks like they had a Rodeo, and a professional driver hopped into an MJ to run the barrels with it. Must have been exciting. It was part of a 4 on the Floor competition, sponsored by the local Jeep/Renault dealer. You can barely make out the bed in the lower pic, and I believe the upper pic shows the back half of the MJ. I also found this little article. It was in the wheels section, and kinda neat. Makes me want to go back and start flipping through papers over the years to see what I might have missed in MJ news. I was really hoping to find some Jeep dealer ad's with the Comanche in the forefront. I'll have to head back there when I have time to kill someday. Rob L.
  14. Well, at the urging of Ben(Neohic) I finally got off my duff and started throwing some stuff together for MJOTM decals. I want something simple, but since these won't be going on any of my trucks, I figured I would ask for some input. I was thinking of a simple white decal, about the size of the headrest to put it behind the drivers head. Nothing too huge... But here's the font and style I was thinking of. (Mind you white, instead of black) Ben liked the idea, and even thought of the possibility to come like that, but be cut up to make a windshield banner, like this: COMANCHECLUB's MJOTM NOVEMBER 2010 So I was looking from some input from the selected few, or any other members who want to toss an idea into the hat. As they sit, I have to lock down a size, but Spencer said he could do them for about $6. Rob L.
  15. The 10th digit is the year. It follows the alphabet. Starting at 1986: 1986:G 1987:H 1988:J 1989:K 1990:L 1991:M 1992:N '89 I don't believe they use the letter "I" in VIN's or the letter "o" due to easy confusion with its number counterpart, so that's why its skipped. Rob L.
  16. Holy old thread! Rob L. :D
  17. I imagine it would be a bit loud(er) in the cab, without the sound deadening of the carpet. I pulled part of the interior out of my GF's Corolla to fit a bunch on MJ parts in the back seat, and it was pretty freaking loud on the highway. And I am sorry to say, but an '07 Corolla will make a bit less road noise than a 20 year old truck. I'd put carpet back in. Rob L.
  18. You can get the Mopar supplemental FSM for rebuilding the AX15 on ebay... I picked one up about a year ago cheap. Here's a set of the AX15 and ABS supplements: http://cgi.ebay.com/1989-AMC-JEEP-ABS-A ... 53df9c760b Rob L.
  19. Wow. I like. Rob L.
  20. :needpics: Just need to know the code, and you can have it whenever you want. Rob L.
  21. I didn't buy it, but I have an extra cargo light switch I was hoping for find a switchless light for. He's awfully lonely without a friend. Rob L. :(
  22. Can't have just one... Time to build a street ripper to give the Jetta some time off from DD use. Rob
  23. Grab the VIn's for the registry? Rob L.
  24. Bo, you know you have the lowest serial number of the '86's? Rob L.
