  8. well it seems as if its the valve cover gasket. theres oil on the backside of the engine and on the intake manifold. new gasket kit is like 40 bucks so ill pick one up this week. i also tightened all the valve cover bolts i got 2-2.5 turns out of a couple of them. but I'm going to replace the gasket anyway
  9. first day i drove tp school i locked the keys in my car so after using s coat hanger to open my rear door( scratching the door frame pretty good) and crawling throught the interior to open the drivers door i found a magnetic box thing inside my front bumper a week later with a spare key in it. wish i had of know that sooner
  10. the only thing I'm abit worried about is that for the last coulpe weeks it had been making some knocking noise on startup and low rpm. and i never thought anything of it. now i know why and I'm worried that i may of done some damage. but after i put oil in it makes no noise and doesnt seem to smoke.the oil light never came on so i don't think i ever went completly dry.......i hope. I'm gunna check it out tomorrow. yes ive been told that it may be valve cover or oil pan but that may also be the case
  11. LOL when you love top work on your mj project but can't bring yourself to do mundane repairs on you DD
  12. well i crawled under a min ago and it does seem to have a leak it just hard to see so i missed it the first time. its by the rear most motor mount ill have to jack it up and see where the oils coming from. this is most definetly the last thing i need at the moment.
  13. didnt need to know that sam..... :rotfl2:
  14. so today i was cleaning up my DD hyundai and i decided i should pop the hood and check the oil. considering i had changed it right after i bought it(couple months ago) and filled it a bit overfull i thought it was fine........ turns out there was NO oil in it . i put 2.5 litres in and its back to just over the full mark. I'm now carrying 1.5 litres in the car and I'm going to start checking the oil every few days. still i don't think this is normal... the car is a 2001 hyundai elantra 2.0L with 235thousand kms is it normal for a car to use oil like that. it doesnt leve any oil puddles in the yard or anywhere i park and there doesnt seem to be any accumulations of oil on the motor anywhere and it doesnt burn any so I'm at a loss to where the oil went...
