a few of my buddies ordered the prestige edition, it comes with night vision goggles.. me, i havent played video games in quite some time now, I'm still stuck on the first killzone lol... i have COD for the wii, but it's very tough to get used to playin with the gun instead of controllers, and i've only beaten one level and ive had it for a year now

the best way to do the swap is pick up a complete donor and strip out everything you need, however the firewall on the '86 is where you'll have issues... the 4.0 wasn't available in the xj/mj till '87, and they had to redesign the firewall to make it fit in there... there's people in here who have done it i'm sure tho...

nice sig! i like how you got all the parts rigs in it lol

want info on, Diesel CRD 3.0L in the 08 Cherokee
WBKrazy replied to case5412's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
aftermarket boost gauges are very easy to install... you can either install a vacuum tee inline with the map sensor vacuum line or most any small intake vacuum line, or you can drill a small hole in the intake and screw a vacuum port into that to connect the vacuum line to, then you just run the line through the firewall and into the truck -
you get bit by one of these? :rotf: seriously though glad you're ok, could have been a lot worse... good luck with your recovery and jeep search...

i was in a couple target shooting leagues when i was younger, i had a marlin bolt action .22 and a remington semi-auto .22, both with bushnell scopes.. i ended up selling them both right after i got out of college, mostly because i didnt really ever have any time to go down to the range anymore.

imo, the best and easiest diesel swap is an older 4b with mechanical fuel injection.. all the wiring required to make an electronically injected diesel run in a vehicle it never came in can be an extremely difficult task if you're inexperienced in such matters.. the older veedub motor seems to be a good choice too, but they can be finicky as well, and a nonturbo diesel is woefully underpowered.. i would stay away from the tdi and benz motors, unless you want to remortage your house when it breaks down.. that's my .02, good luck with whatever you choose to do and let us know how it goes!

So if someone in another state had a decent MJ with no title, I could register it for them in my name then send them a bill of sale with the registration and then they should be able to register it? Know one has asked me to do this, I was just thinking :hmm: yep, i know of people who have done just that, but i believe you have to have some kind of proof of previous ownership, i.e. previous registration..... "I'm thinking your on to something there. Perhaps RI has a limit on buying and selling of cars for personal use? Too many and they might want you to get a dealer license? Nothing seems illegal or immoral, but those two are not necessarily the same." i don't think that there is a limit to how many you can have registered, i had 4 registered to me at one point.. on the form you fill out at the registry it asks if the vehicle is part of a fleet or not, and i never know what to say :rotf: ... and brak, welcome to the club! good to see another RI member on here... where in RI are you from?
-
to sell a car from ri more than 10 years old, the registration is the de facto title... any other state should accept it as proof....
-
welcome! if you lived closer to here i'd tow it for you, but i'm all the way down in RI...

this wheeling trip is sponsored by a different forum i'm on but is open to all comers so i figured i'd see if there was anyone here interested... the trail is actually a class 6 legal road named old voluntown road in exeter RI, not all that crazy of a trail but there are some "rock gardens" near the beginning, and some decent sized bogs on the second leg of the trail.. here's a couple videos of the trail, the first one has two xj's, one with a 3.5in. lift and another with a 4in., and the second one is a pretty much stock suburban with cranked torsion bars and blocks in the back... http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... d=63841171 http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... d=63839931 post up in here if you want to go and once i get a head and location count i can figure out meeting places and such...

it's definitely not an edelbrock, the real one does have edelbrock cast into it, here's a picture of one....

yup, definitely sounds like your tranny is on it's way to heaven and needs to be rebuilt, and the death wobble is caused by (usually) bad front end parts or tires, it shouldn't have anything to do with the transmission, unless maybe the mount is bad... try pushing up on the transmission, if it moves up more than a tiny bit the mount should be replaced.

i'm swapping a 90 4.0 and 87 aw-4 into my 88 2.5 ax-4, and i have a question about the wiring... i'm mixing 87 and 90 wiring harnesses, are any of the plugs different between the two? the harness with the ecu and tcu plugs that runs into the interior is from the 90 (4.0 aw-4), and the other harness that wraps around the front of the radiator support and connects to the starter solenoid and all the plugs over by the battery is from an 87 (4.0 ax-15)... and also there is a 6 pin plug on the 90 harness thats under the dash next to the plugs for the ecu that doesnt match anything else there, i was curious as to what that plug is for... any help is appreciated, thanks!
