Where do you live ? Finding a nice low mileage renix era engine at a junkyard is best in my opinion , but is probably the hardest to do as well . I have went the autozone route before with bad results :head gasket went 8 months later and I asked them to replace both at the same time and they would only pay to replace one. Sure enough the other head gasket went months later when it was out of warranty . A jasper engine would be a good option if you want a rebuilt engine with a good warranty and reliability IMO . Cruiser54 has a detailed write up how you can install certain year HO engines running renix electronics . Look in his signature and you'll have all the info on swapping it in .

My local yard charges $25 for a TCU. I would have to see if he has one for 90 and older .

I'm pretty sure I have a couple good ones lying around . I think I've seen them in the "help"section at the parts store as well .

I think I would get the wrath if I cut the sport bar up , I couldn't bring myself to do it anyhow .

I don't have high hopes of finding a quick way to take the bar off either but I had to ask .

I picked up a swb sport bar a couple weeks ago and have been contemplating putting it in , but sometimes I need the extra room in the bed for hauling larger / bulky items . What I was wondering is has anyone made the sport bar able to be removed quickly ? I like the look of the sport bar but the ability to haul larger items and want the best of both worlds . Thanks in advance ,

I'm guilty of number 5 . Manche ranks up there for me , can not figure out why though . The best I can come up with is taking a couple letters out of a word , or not calling it what it actually is .

Thanks ,I just looked at it . I noticed that according to the stock picture that rustys crossmember only bolts with 4 bolts total vs the one I'm looking at that looks like 8 mounting bolts like the original . Is that right?

It's sad really , the previous owners did that and the current neighbor is disabled due to car accident . I cut his grass , fix his vehicle and do a lot of other stuff for him . He told me he doesn't like them and wants them taken off as well and I haven't got around to it . I do get to store a truck in there though lol.

I can get it for $160 brand new . I've seen the 1inch dropped crossmember go for $ 150 with no skid plate . I'm open to anything really . Thanks for the reply .

Can't find a local ax15 xj /mj crossmember . But I did find a Full Traction #720646 Xj crossmember with the description stating that it was good for a manual . Anyone ever used one ? It looks well made .Image Not Found
