......is this " Nair -do -well " :laughin:
  9. :wavey: Howdy neighbour , you did mention coolant contamination so I'm guessing the head gasket is the culprit .
  10. :agree: Amen
  11. I've seen a number of home-brewed soft toppers , but none of them fold away easily or at all for that matter . I bought my "Softopper" two years ago and have to say , it's the single best addition to my truck that I've made !
  12. Doesn't sound good , can you contact the PO to find out if there is a warranty from the shop that did the rebuild ? :???:
  13. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
  14. The plastic heater control valve is easy to crack if you over-tighten the clamps . when I replaced mine I went back to OEM spring clamps ......no leaks since
  15. Like most things , the Prep. makes the job . The problem starts with the backer board deteriorating . So you need to stabilize that surface first . Fiberglass mat and resin or even resin alone works best but you can simply paint it as well to get a surface that the adhesive will bond to :typing:
  16. That's a winning pair for sure
  17. Back in the day ....SCCA suspension rules allowed : replacing OEM with any material attached to stock mounting points AND any additional suspension components you wished to add ! I campaigned A Datsun 1200 in C-Sedan with Teflon rear leafs , Zeed for tire clearance and a 4 link with adjustable coil-overs front and back .Since the 1200 was basically a BMC knock-off , we used dual "SU" side-draft carbs , tuned headers, roller cam ,dry sump ,and got 150 hp to the rear wheels @ 8000 rpm . Yes we did grenade a few engines in the process, but we sure gave those " Mini"s a run for the money !
  18. My $ 0.02 , Battery to starter cable corroded under the insulation ( Jumper from starter terminal to battery will confirm ), and separately (Jumper from good ground to battery to confirm ) . If both cables test O.K. , then it's likely the battery at fault . :wrench:
  19. :rotfl2: Can't you just see hand pumping the water pump while driving :driving: .....hopefully its an automatic trans. so you have one hand free to keep the circulation going :jump:
  20. Jim and me are old enough to remember this same public rant about " cheap , poor quality , knock-off products " taking away our jobs quite some time back . Then it was "Japan" then "Korea" ....etc......who now have plants in North America ( Canada , USA , Mexico ) providing us with the jobs we need . This is capitalism not communism driving these economic changes ......Just food for thought guys
  21. WELL.... HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL .......I hope your right , although maybe the scammers will start riding on the roof as they do in India , which would certainly do away with or eliminate a good number of the "free ride" crowd . ......On a more positive note .....Welcome to Beautiful British Columbia .....I hope you enjoy your stay , and get a little sight seeing in as well
  22. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Well said Don
  23. FWIW Don't mention your here working for "Skytrain" ......The most hated public money-pit next to B.C. Ferries Corp. We pay an extra $0.15 per liter on gas here to subsidize this joke left over from Expo '86 :fs1:
