I sold my old YJ to a fellow in Pigeon Ford, TN. Maybe he was fixing it up for Dolly :rotf: Greeting from Kansas.

Truck looks fantastic  Great work!!! -
who ever does this to thier comanche will be my hero
87Warrior replied to MancheKid86's topic in The Pub
I think that is a slow, ugly, rig. If anybody does that to an MJ, they should be banned from the club! For those who are too lazy to cut-n-paste: -
How did you work the dash VIN tag off, then back on? Just realized this is my first post in your build, yet I have been stocking it for almost a year!

Holy heck, the Cowboy has Butler County Kansas plates

steering wheel straightening?
87Warrior replied to STERLING STINGER's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Draglink I believe. But, didn't you just replace a bunch of ends up front? If this steering wheel offset occurred afterwards, you need an alignment. In any case a good alignment should straighten your wheel up. -
4.0/5 SPEED TO 4.O/Auto
87Warrior replied to COMANCHE45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Are you just wanting to swap the auto over, or the whole drivetrain? If you are swapping the whole drivetrain, everything should be unbolt from the donor and bolt into the MJ. If you just want the auto, you will have to install the flexplate from the donor and remove the pilot bushing from the end of the MJ's crank. -
Try the Napa Gold 1515 or Mobile1 M1-204. These are the filters I run on my '92 MJ and '03 TJ.

A 5' antenna seems like it might be a bit excessive. Is there any advantage to running the 5' pole vs. the 3' pole? I only ask because my 3' FireStik gets about 5 miles of reception, which is what I though was on the high end for a CB radio. Obviously if your mount is down low, the taller antenna would get you a less obstructed signal. I think I will look into doing a bed mounted antenna. I think positioning a mount on the inside of the box, to the far right would be a good option, assuming the mount would get the antenna away from the top lip on the bed. Some interesting ideas are coming out of this thread. Nice to see what has worked for others while thinking through a set up :clapping:

Slide the HVAC knob all the way to the right :smart: Hope you get her fixed with out too much headache. -
Better driving that most on those kind of shows. Hope they did not impound the truck or something :headpop:

Never been a drinker, but roomed with a few of them while in school. 10-15 folks in and out would be very common, unless it was St. Patrick's day, then 20-50 strangers coming in was normal. We lived a block from the bar district and happened to be on the route between "Greek Street". Very interesting times. :rotf: From my perspective P&A, Beer Pong, and Washers are great drinking games.

You can put me down for a set :brows: -
RLCollins- sounds like you have the Cobra 75, IIRC. It is the unit with all of the functions built into the handset. Popular for the Jeep crowd because of its small size. You should be able to find all of the installation hardware (antenna, mounts, cable) at a truck stop or radio shack. I run a Uniden PRO538W with 3 weather channels and a 3' firestick in my TJ. SWR stays below 1.3, 1-40 :D Will be installing the extra Uniden 520XL in the MJ someday. Still have to find an antenna mounting set up I like for the MJ

I love simple green, I use it on everything. From the interior to the garage floor to the engine bay. Use a good scrub brush or textured sponge and there is not much that will stand in the simple green's way.

is this a good deal?
87Warrior replied to STERLING STINGER's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Why get a dropped pitman with the V8 ZJ arm :huh???: Have one on my TJ, stock pitman, fit perfect and works great. Is your ZJ steering box shorter than the XJ/TJ? That kit would probably tighten the front end up for a year or so, but then the cheapness would really start to shine through. Hard to say how much the shipping would be from Canada too. -
Awesome :clapping: But... better today than tomorrow or Friday. Darn :Canadaflag: air coming in to freeze us out, with 30mph winds!!!!! BTW- How much snow do you have out east? Make sure it is in good shape before doing any work to it. Pinion bearing and gear wear pattern would be the two most expensive things to get replaced. Don't forget, you will need to get your drive shaft shortened by 1" ;) My question: Is there any locker than can be installed with the 3.55 gear ratio in the D44? All I have seen require at least 3.92 gears or something. I would like to install a mild locker in the MJ D44 sitting on the garage floor.

Don't buy that rolling POS :shake: JUST KIDDING, it's beautiful! Welcome to the club. You will wind up with an MJ in no time. At least that is what happened when I joined MJ-less. It was a sad dark time in my life, but I have seen the light. I almost ignored this thread because of the title :ack: :typing:

I would agree. Orange is the (+) lead for the dash lighting, black is the ground. Have something you want to light up when you kick the headlamps on, wire it to that plug. Of course, test with a multimeter first.

Do what? Our old '93 XJ purrs along perfectly up high, unlike my folks 05 Hummer H3 which pukes out worse than a loaded down TBI suburban :ack:

Very cool, I like it a lot! I can't wait to see what this beast winds up looking like.
