  1. Hey now, those are cool!
  2. I can't really tell on my postage stamp sized cell phone screen, but how is that bumper? Brackets? If a good deal I would like 'em.
  3. NOS? Used? New Manufacture? I would be down with a little more detail. Particularly the size, cost, and originality.
  4. Well deserved and a beautiful example of what the MJ can be (past and present)
  5. Yeah, its dirty. Been sitting in a dirt barn. The light scratch is the only damage to it. (it may disappear once cleaned up)
  6. I have heard that too. But I do it. I figure it has to be better than dragging them over jagged rocks and such.
  7. a3jjPouRdFw then.. UYcqNAhk-co There are a few other video guides on youtube, but these seem to be the most complete. I would suggest starting the PB Blaster soaking yesterday. Everything will be really corroded.
  8. I do not need this linkage or shift gate because I will be using the stuff from my XJ donor and 242, build is in my signature. What is pictured is the 231 shift gate/shifter assembly, the body mount, and the mount that bolts to the t-case and transmission. As long as your t-case has a 3" linkage mount pointing downward near the front yoke, this stuff should get you bolted up. If you picked up your tranny and t-case from an XJ it probably has part of the linkage attached. The friction adjustment bolt is missing, but its just a 13mm that you torque down to align the shift leaver. I will take a picture of the scratch in the morning. If your truck is a floor shift truck, the ultra-mini console won't do you much good. The parts did come off my HO 92, with AW4 and 231. I have no clue if there are any differences in the bracketry between autos and 5spds, or renix and HO.

    I wish...

I think it would fall out of a short bed. I purposely searched for the long bed, because I needed a truck.... you know, to haul stuff. Having the ability to go off road and hit up mountain trails is a perk to having a Jeep :D
  10. :fs1: I can get better pictures tomorrow in the sunlight. Only one bulb in the garage is working. It's a little greasy, but worked prefect in my truck. There is a scratch on the clear plastic over the "4-High".
  11. As I understand it (could be wrong) the later models do not have the switch and thus the TCU was defaulted to the 'power' setting.
  12. All I did was drop the fuel tank, disconnect the bed harness and unbolt the bed. Lift and carry away. It will require at least two people to lift and move. You have come to the right place to get help with your truck. The knowledge base here is outstanding. Take a look in the projects forum to see how everybody is working on their trucks.
  13. Sure thing. I will get a few pics of the assembly tomorrow and post them up.

  15. I have a 231 shifter/shift gate with linkage and the ultra-mini console (only around shifter, was a column shift truck) sitting on the barn floor. Was removed 2 weeks ago to not be damaged by media blasting. Should be able to ship for $5-10 depending how the linkage folds up. Will sell for $20 shipped if you replace those RC wheel spacers, or $30 shipped on Monday :waving:

    I'm back

:typing: Glad you made it through the snow/ice storm ok.
  17. Mine was the same way when I bought it. I just stuck a lock nut on the backside with lock-tite. Certainly not the best solution, but it held for a year. I knew I was going to be replacing the knuckles for the Vanco brake kit anyhow. A new knuckle will be expensive. I would opt for the heli coil repair, unless you have access to the tools needed to remove and install ball joints.

    New Tow Rig

Beautiful truck  Someday, one of those will be in MY driveway.
  19. Your gonna cause an accident someday :rotf: It never fails, when I have cards with me I never see a MJ. When I don't I see at least 1 a day. :fs2:
  20. Awesome! Glad to hear it actually runs  Bummer about the fuel line and gas gauge. I am sure you will get those ironed out. What kind of tool are you using to work with the fuel line?
  21. My folks have the 30" BFG AT's on their XJ and I had them on my old YJ. The BFGs on the XJ have about 50K miles on them and have been used on EVERY road condition imaginable. They do well in hard packed snow and icy conditions, but fall a little short in the wet snow category as well as mud. They cake up pretty easy. They are tough and grip well on loose rocky trails when aired down. On-road ride is smooth, but make sure you keep them rotated or the will get VERY noisy and cupped. They will out perform just about any mud tire on slick, wet, rocks or pavement. The BFG AT has been a favorite of many for several years. And rightfully so. I would get them for my MJ, but they are not quite aggressive enough so I am opting for the Cooper ST (not STT) in a 31" variety. They are an aggressive AT and I have had darn good luck with Cooper (STTs) on my TJ.
  22. I used a spot weld remover to take the two upper frame rail pieces off. I think I used 6 of them. It is tough and slow going. I had initially bought a spot weld driller set from another store. Was the biggest wast of $30 ever. Just pick some of these up: http://www.harborfreight.com/3-8-eighth ... 95343.html Find the spot weld. Drill a pilot hole in the center and finish with the spot weld tool. You will need to cut the front and rear of the top frame rail pieces as the front is welded down and the rear is sandwiched between a few layers of sheet metal. Don't forget to remove the two side supports first.
  23. Snow flies and everybody turns to idiots. Despite the Blizzard warnings, I still had to take my 2wd Ranger to work yesterday at 7:30. I get a call from the boss at 10:30 and am told to go home. Once home I don't know what to do with myself, so I decided to return 4 bags of Black Diamond to tractor supply just down the road, in my TJ. By this time there is a good 4-6" on the road. Pull 2 mini vans and 1 Toyota car out on my way to TSC. Since I was out, I decided why not find a filter/screen so I can reuse the blast media. Start my trek to Harbor Freight. Spot a black Lexus buried in a shopping complex drive, UPS truck driver helping a couple and a daughter behind the wheel shovel out. I asked the lady if they would like to be pulled out of the snow pile. With a look of pure disgust and evil, she looked at me and blatantly stated, "Look at it. Its a Lexus. I leave that to the professionals." I chuckled and told her good luck getting her fancy Toyota out, and drove away to help another car high centered in the snow plows pile of doom. By last night on a trip to Walmart the roads where drifting so deep my TJ on 35's was dragging axle. Today I had no work and drove my wife to work. The sun is out, but it is blustery. On the way home I stopped to help a Land Cruiser stuck in another shopping complex driveway. Me and a few others pushed it to freedom. Then I spent a few hours winching/digging out my work truck and my wifes Camry in the apartment parking lot. I love snow. This really makes me want to move back to the Colorado high country :brows:
  24. Motivate yourself to put that bed to use :wrench: If that won't happen, sell it to somebody who could use it. There are more and more folks restoring MJs to better than new condition. A good bed will fetch a high price.
  25. Yes they are! I actually just did away with the little valve and noticed no change in cab temperatures. Plus the plumbing is cleaner.
