this seems to be just how aftermarket stuff is man, out of the projects we've done to my boss's 97TJ only ONE item didn't require extra fab work on our part to install (other than the necessary cutting and drilling in the instructions) the jeep got a -swap from 2.5 to a 06 4.0L -6spd trans. from rubi -procomp 4.5" LA kit f&r -warn hub conversion -tera-4lo kit & sye -somebodys high-steer kit idk who -skyjunker sway anti-rock bar (the one with the hub.. its juunk.) and i'm probably forgetting stuff. the procomp kit was a HUUGE screwup. wrong parts and the PN is impossible to find with the coating they use the steering came with the wrong TRE-s and they were junky anyways the 4.0L and 6 spd held true to the motto that "the hardest motor to put into a jeep is a jeep motor" ended up needing an 05-06 gauge cluster, the part of the body harness witht eh cluster plugs and the obd adapter, a fuel tank for the evap stuff, and dayyyyyss of wire splicing and looking up. its finally down to finishing up the steering and putting in driveshafts.

i passed a sniffer with a dead cat... by use of a variable map sensor and a non-adjustable distributor. turned the disty until she started poppin and banging and gettin ALLLL sortsa pissed off and it blew all kinds of $#!& out the tailpipe, then put it back to normal then i turned my map sensor down to about 4.2V (as low as my resistor will run it) and she passed EDIT: as far as penalties there are none, but you must be passed and re-registered before your tag expires or you get an extra tag fee. and an expired tag ticket from driving on one is NO fun. trust me. you pay 25$ a test here and get a free re-test 2nd go round hten pay for 3rd get 4th free lol

Problem solved. She wanted a high school diploma. Six years in the slammer should be plenty of time to get her G.E.D. and not even a chance at being the prom queen :rotf: nah, but i bet she can get screwed in the locker room...

yeah, i put a slave/master on a nissan the other day at the shop and it was a BIATCH to bleed and come back the next week with a dead master. had to get another one

...? around here the only tow companies that don't use flatbeds are the takeback men... just get a flatbed wrecker -
oh yeah, and ps... vooosh! is the sound of the world exploding or w/e it decides to do.

If the whole world gets sucked into a black hole or obliterated i want to be standing on top of stone mountain with a cold beer in my hand yelling WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO (voooosh!)

my mom has a miata 5spd and its fun as hell to drive... just don't let your buddy's see you. its like drivin a go-cart. STUCK to the ground, and decently quick with the a/c off ;) but american muscle to the finish! my best bud has a 84 5oh 5spd gt350 anniversary car with stock cam/nothin special on the carb (yes it passed emissions) exhaust and a 3.73 rearend swaped in from 3.08 and that thing goes like hell. its faster than necessary.

pioneer couldn't be the lowest trim level to have full guages. my '89 sportruck came factory with 4x4 5sp 4.0 fullgauges, carpet and bench seat.

Poor service - Pain in the $%&

i hate it for you guys that are having trouble with your shops, i work at a 3 man shop, me, the owner, and the parts/customer service guy. and we'll do anything to make the customer happy, and a phone call is never forgotten. i think developing a good customer/shop relationship is key to success in this sort of thing i know we wouldn't allow our customers to leave bitching or thinking they got screwed... sorry the rest of the shops out there don't think the same. -
think broken drivethru overhang... mmmmmmmfunnnnn haha i don't drink coffee... or tea. i do a mtn dew in the morning, and i'm tired as @#$% til about 30 minutes after we get back from lunch. i think i might buy a bottle of caffeine pills, lot cheaper than drinks are... more kick too.
-
i think the factory people did that for us :brows: 80w90, MGC gear oil additive is good, anything BG, lucas, red-line, full synthetic... just whatever you can get... i think if you change it at all its better than what 90% of all of them on the road will ever get.
-
it flipped 7 times endo. never touched the roof of the car. people walked away from it. drivers side also got whacked by a telephone pole on the way. ooooor.... someone watched that "plannies pictures" video on youtube of how to torture test a XJ and wanted to see how a celica would handle it.

for scratch removal try backing up against a tree or rock. its like a dog-hair brush... rub off one way rub on the other way ;) (i know... i'm an axehole.) :brows:
-
thats a good deal, but idk about the SYE. that just means you need to buy a rear shaft. i'm not aware of anyone having real problems with d/shafts until like 8+ inches in manches

Differences in MJ and XJ headlights?
Oizarod115 replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
yea sim ting. -
i'm pretty sure every 4.0L ever needs a radiator by 150k no matter what haha. all we have is 4.0Ls and 4 out of 4 have needed one. and MOST of the time if your waterpump isn't leaking or peeing out of the weep hole its just fine.
-
its not really much cheaper, you've got to have a built front bumper to mount the shackles to, a GOOD welder (whether that be you and your machine, or someone else it needs to be quality) a GOOD eye and tape measure leafs to play around with, YJ 3" will do IIRC and alot of cutting/down time. then you have to do an OTK steering kit because the stock steering runs where the leafs will be mounted unless you go SUA
-
hey man, people with TJs buy KITS to raise their seats up for more visibility/wheelability so a set of rocking XJ buckets is the way to go... (not to mention the rocking seats are the most comfortable ones you can find. i have them and love it. cept the drivers one is tearing slightly)
