  2. i love cj's. when my wrangler is built, i'd like to restore a cj. i'd like to mainly restore to original, maybe w/ a 2" lift tops. whats your plans? glad to see it getting some attention.
  3. i'm bringing the family, not by 8 am though.
  4. for the army its 29, and it can be waived under certain circumstances. he's also looking at chopper pilot. i think those that suggested any branch should be falling over themselves for someone with a degree and a skill, that seems to be more accurate at other recruiters.
  5. i like this link better :nanner:
  6. u da man.
  7. searched and searched. there was a thread that had a link to the worst suspensions ever brewed at home, anyone have the link?
  8. pshh, everyone knows that only bolts on to the s10. man i wish that worked on an mj
  9. did you try moving the t case shifter around. problems w/ the aw4 are possible, but rare. i'd look at your t case shifter, and linkages. maybe its in nuetral.
  10. pick n pull here has 1200 cars waiting for me to get my paws on them. they are not out in the yard yet, getting fluids drained and all. and they're taking their time to, i wish they'd hurry up. :fs1:
  11. ya, you can have a spark thats too weak to actually fire the engine. a white/blue spark is nice and strong, a yellow spark is on the weak side. or there's a super cheap spark tester that has an adjustable gap and you put it on the wire, set the gap and you can see the spark jump, if it jumps at a smaller gap but not in spec, then the spark could be too weak. it comes with a little spec sheet usually for different vehicles. the gap on the tool is usually anywhere from zero to a little over an inch, its not like trying to look at a spark plug.
  12. um, that is not osha approved footwear at the top there  :rotf: sweet build. that will be a beast
  13. to the best of my knowledge all mj tail lights were the same, but i could be wrong
  14. luckily i work for indy shops, if i was at a dealer i'd refuse to do it. kinda like a pharmacist and the morning after pill. i wouldn't do it.
  15. u joint?

    Broke down

not sure if a standard rebuild kit will cover any or all hard parts that may have failed. make sure you know what parts went kablooey, and make sure they come in a kit.
  20. ^ you used a dremmel tool for that? no saws all or cut off wheel? :rotf:
  21. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=17968&p=183420&hilit=proportioning+valve#p183420 this thread will at least show you where it is, and a really nice fix if some pieces are missing, or the whole thing is missing sometimes.
  22. ok, if you have gas and at the right pressure, and spark, either the timing is off, or you have bad compression. you can flip the distributor 180 and try it. did the motor run before? i've seen 4.0's run actually pretty well on 40-60 psi of compression, which is obviously a toasted motor. i say rotate the distributor, and then check compression.
  23. so now i read the rest, so distributor is confirmed ok? since you have spark have you checked fuel? if its sparking on the bod it will in the head, don't worry about that.
  24. vacuum no, and its stupid hard to screw up the timing chain. did you have the distributor out? 180 off? sorry if thats already been mentioned
  25. did you find that piece you were missing ok? do you have a rear proportioning valve hooked up, many are missing, or bypassed and it makes the pedal feel kinda low, but also grabby. not sure about hissing.
