Can Spell Comanche

Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

  1. Does it feel like the truck completely loses power? Like you have your foot on the gas but nothing happens (while its happening)? I'm having that type of issue and replaced the plugs, wires, fuel filter, cap, rotor with no luck.
  2. I'm buying the slave cylinder because its the cheapest part to buy and if it needs to be replaced then i minus will replace it now. I called the jeep dealership around here and they don't have it in stock and it would take a few days. The reason I doubt its the master is because I wired up my fog lights over the weekend and saw no fluid or anything dripping inside the cabin at all so thats why I'm assuming its the slave. I don't have much time and i don't have much money to replace both so Ill repalce the cheapest part and go from there. Will it work? It may or may not but I'm going to start from there.
  3. Awesome well I just called napa and they looked it up and said its external. So I'm going to pick one up and see if that works. Its only $33 so ill start there. Does anyone happen to have a picture of the slave cylinder on the housing? a buddy of mine is going to help me but he just want to see a picture. One more thing where would i find the fill hole for the tranny fluid? I picked up some lucas tranny fluid and usually on my old cherokee id seep it down the dipstick hole but I can't seem to find that on this. Maybe I'm just that blind. Sorry for all the questions but i tried to get the service manual and they didnt have it in stock and they said it would take a week to come in.
  4. Are slaves easy to replace on these?
  5. It's an 86' sorry. When I went to put the fluid in this morning I didnt notice any fluid under the master cylinder. The tranny is covered with liquid but I couldnt tell if it was oil from the oil leak i recently had or the slave cylinder but I'm not exactly sure where the slave cylinder is. Its a 2.5 with a 5spd 4x4. After doing a little digging I believe my tranny is an ax5.
  6. So i may know the answer to this but Id like to be sure about it. When i went to start the truck up this morning I barely able to get it into gears and had to keep pumping the clutch to switch gears. i managed to make it back to my house and popped the hood to find out there was no fluid in the clutch master cylinder. I filled the resevoir up and started pumping the clutch but the fluid wasnt moving at all. Now i'm under the assumption that either the master cylinder is busted or I have to bleed the system because I let it run dry. Also when you push the clutch in you can see little bubbles coming up i the resevoir. My buddy was telling me the clutch was shot but I never had any problems with the clutch slipping.
  7. Thanks Ill try that with the plugs. Apparently from looking around the gap should be .035? Can someone verify that? Any ideas about the 4x4?
  8. No I was using the 4x4 in the snow, some of the roads were very slushy while others still didnt get plowed. I actually purchased new spark plugs, cap and rotor so I will try to replace them this weekend. Anybody have any tips on getting the spark plug that closest to the front of the car? The ac unit is right next to it and I realy didnt want to pull it all out. What should the plugs be gapped to?
  9. So I have 2 issues that just recently started with my jeep. Its a 4cyl 2.5l by the way. The first one is almost everytime I shut the truck off it backfires like a [bleep]. I havent done anything to this truck so I don't know why it would do it. Secondly today was the first time I used the 4x4 (had snow today) and while driving down the road I started to hear a loud rubbing noise coming from the front end which sounded like the differential or the axel. Once I took the truck off 4x4high the noise went away. I'm really hoping its not the differential thats bad because i have no cash to buy another one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks --------------------------------------------------------------- [Edited by Eagle to remove language not acceptable on this board]
  10. I still have to paypal you the money and i have no clue what valve your talking about lol. Where could i find that?
  11. Alright so we got the drums and everything installed over the weekend but I have the same issue i had before(i probably should have brought this up before) THe break pedal goes about half way down before it actually engages and when you let got it comes back up but you can hear sort of a hissing noise. Never do i actually lose break pressure its just a noise coming from the break pedal soooo new master cylinder or new booster? We already tried bleeding all the breaks unless if there is a special way to bleed them that I overlooked.
  12. JPDOCDAve yes i do need another bar and spring if you still have it. I also need a set of mirrors if you happen to have those also pm me a price shipped and paypald thanks for the info guys.
  13. MY buddy just started doing the rear drums on the breaks. When we took both the drums off we noticed a bar that came across both the shoes and had a spring on one side. The other wheel didnt have this bar with the spring. Can anyone tell me what exactly that does and if i need it? When we left it off it was easier to get the shoes and everything on.
  14. IS there a writeup somewhere on this? I think i might have to switch out my right turn signal switch. IT stays solid when i switch to it and ive changed all the bulbs.
