  1. Where I'm at we call it Vato-zone. I hope I don't have to explain that.
  2. Made a couple changes. I always had issues with the caravan resevior because one of the hose fittings wasnt the right size. I found one from a Dodge journey had the right size fittings and was deeper, so I have that now. Also installed a set of JK wheels with spidertrax adapters. Getting ready to go find a WJ booster and master to replace my vac leaky MJ booster. None of this includes the ton of parts transferred over from my 86 MJ. AC, PS, 4wd, 5spd, 4:10's
  3. Are you all set up in GA yet? I know you don't want to tough out another Michigan winter.
  4. The non eth I buy is 89 octane, but is also about the same price as diesel. I'm not sure its worth it or not, but Ill keep getting it for the MJ as long as I can find it. I started getting it just for the mowers, but I figured it would be better in the truck than the alky stuff, and for no more than I drive it, it can't hurt.
  5. Down to $2.56. Diesel at $3.21
  6. Non ethanol fuel and fuel stabilizer would help out too especially if it sits a lot.
  7. Like was said, if youre in an area that does safety and emissions testing, removing it could be construed as tampering and therefore illegal. I am in North Carolina where this is the case, but if you know an inspector, then it can easilly be gotten around. I think most people who quit using it just unplug it, block the vac line and remove the pipe. This keeps it in place but closed so you don't loose manifold vacuum. That would allow you to use a non egr exhaust manifold.
  8. There was a good retort article in allpar.com showing a bunch of flaws in consumer reports ratings. Really makes you wonder about how much truth is really out there when certain people only want to report what is convenient for them or only what they want you to think. Are cars in general better than they used to be? Yes but there is still some that are better than others no matter who builds them. All the mfg's are having issues. I guess its just Chrysler Fiat's turn in the barrel. Even though GM has had the biggest F up lately with all the recalls. Guess their pockets are just deeper to cover story's up.
  9. Recently found "aFe power" makes headers for the 4.0 and 2.5. I'm saving up for the 2.5 version now and hopefully will be able to get one for my future build pretty soon. Might be another brand for you to look at.
  10. That's Craig's list for you. Hopefully you'll have better luck today.
  11. Being a dealer tech, I have yet to see many of the problems you are describing. Though we are a small dealer. Other than software updates I've heard of no issues with the 9 speed. And other than a guy filling his new Grand diesel full of gasoline I've also heard of no issues with them. The biggest issue we are seeing is with Dart radios. But this is just my experience and I haven't researched any of the issues you've described. But it wouldn't surprise me either.
  12. I have seen online before about people doing whole cars in several layers of rustoleum with wet sanding between coats and then buffing the top coat. I'm thinking of doing it myself. The key seems to be in preparation. I do like the rustoleum products. They seem to be more durable than others in my limited experience.
  13. Brown Dog motor mounts has them new for the 2.5. I have heard nothing but good things about them. Look them up.
  14. Don't forget the RINO's "Republican in name only". I wish they were easier to identify so we can get rid of them too. Like McCain and Christie. And if they nominate Romney again or any other flip flopper for 2016 I think I may just have a fit.

  16. I went and looked up the 16" aluminum JK wheels. I know Ive seen them before, but never thought anything of them being 16". They are nice though, but I like my 17's better, though the new style Rubicon wheels would be even better.
  17. Yes mine are 17". The only 16" JK wheels I know of are the steelies that come on the base models. I havent measured any of those so I'm not sure, though they would fit better if shorter, but even at 32" its not that big a deal.
  18. These are JK takeoffs with the OEM tires. They came off of a brand new Jeep so the tires were new as well. The tires measure right at 32 inches tall. I'm not sure if youre going to be using the same tires or not, but this may or may not be an issue. I used the Spidertrax hub centric adapters, and I'm loving it so far. They don't stick out at all and on my truck with 4wd front springs and an extra spring isolator, and 2wd springs in the back with longer shackles. They rub a little, especially when turing in reverse. I did some very minor trimming to the lower edges of the flares but that was it. It doesnt rub enough though to bother me to trim any farther at this point. I had a set of shorter tires set aside for a while after I installed these in case I had too much power loss, especially with me having the 4 cylinder. But with 4:10 gears and the taller tires, power is the same as when I had 3:55 gears and stock size tires. I can deal with it.
  19. I have them on mine. I'll post pics later.
  20. I used a Flowmaster 50 series on my 2.5. Love it. Not too loud almost quiet idle with a nice growl under load.
  21. There was actually a recall or a TSB for that with that shield. There was also a thing about putting insulation around the injectors themselves.
  22. Down to $2.59 today. I run non ethanol in mine. Not sure if it makes a difference or not but it makes me feel better for some reason. The non ethanol runs 30-40 cents more per gallon here when you can find it.
  23. I forgot about my truck not having a right side mirror. And the idiot light cluster was a given as well as steel wheels. And there was a plug covering the antenna hole in the fender.
  24. My 87 Sportruck was also 2.5 Ax4 2wd no power steering bench seat rubber floor. But mine was also radio delete and rear bumper delete and has an ashtray but no lighter. But it is also a black interior, so I got that going for me.
  25. Down to $2.74 here. Central NC.
