Is the exhaust broke off before the cat or after the cat? If after, then you may want to check and see if the cat is plugged up. If it broke before the cat... well your guess is as good as mine. Just my 2 cents.

The flexplate will bolt up, but like the flywheel, you will need to have it nuetrally balanced by a machine shop.

Still cannot find paint code...
dasbulliwagen replied to phenryiv1's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ronald Bowers is not the name shown to be the original owner. I'm really not allowed to give out the original owner info. Many of the codes AMC had were recycled and changed by Chrysler, so if the code was changed, the new Chrysler system only reads the code as if it was newer chrysler, Not AMC. Go to an older established body shop. They should have all of the old paint chip books and be able to identify the color for you. I think that may be your best bet. Let us know what you find out. -
The 3.4 will take all of your 2.8 accessories, manifolds etc, just bolt in, but I think you may have to have your 2.8 flywheel nuetrally balanced by a machine shop, as the 2.8 used it for balance, but the 3.4 doesnt. Do some research on this though, I'm pretty sure thats right. car-part.com should be able to locate an engine for you used. Good luck and keep us updated!

I love watching the drag races whenever they are on. Team Force has me pulling for them every weekend! And Ashley is HOTTTT!!!! Some of you may know that at the track they are running right now, last year a driver, Scott Kalitta, was killed when his car blew up right at the finish line and apparently knocked him out, at which point his car was flying full speed to the end of the track, into a concrete barrier set marking a turn-around. His car hit the barrier and immeadiatly blew to a million peices. The track they are at, Englishtown, NJ in my opinion, is too old and too short to run the top fuel cars as they are today. As a result, the NHRA shortened the top fuel car runs to 1000 ft, instead of the original 1320 ft 1/4 mile. This track is still too short for any of these runs. Even just yesterday, a pro stock motorcycle coulldnt slow down in time and went to the end and into a giant net they had set up since last year. If this track doesnt have enough runoff for them, how can it be any good for the top fuel cars? The NHRA needs to stop running at these antiquated tracks like Englishtown, or force the track to build a proper runnoff. Making them run 1000 ft is just a bandaid. And now they are testing smaller engines and other restrictions to try to get them to run 1/4 again. The cars arent the problem, its the old crappy tracks. What do you think?

Your truck shows to have 1 open recall, for an O2 sensor, recall number 561, it also says its an unsold vehicle, but give the original owner full name, adress, and telephone number, all from a dealer in Martinsburg, WV, Millers Chrysler Jeep. There is a second paint code... QYC, but not sure of its description. -
2cd Slave Cylinder failure in 5 months???
dasbulliwagen replied to robfg67's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You can actually remove the trans transfer case and crossmember as a complete unit all together, as far as I know, I did that with the AX5 I have. Not sure if the BA10/5 or AX15 are the same, but I don't see why they wouldnt be. Good luck. -

I think for your purposes the explorer 8.8 with 4:10 gears and disc brakes, with or without limited slip would be the thing to do....or a Dana 44 with 4:10 gears. If what you have already is the Dana 35, don't expect it too last much longer. If I was you I would start right now looking for a better replacement. If you go spring over axle, you will gain 5-6 inches in the rear end. I'm not sure what your plans are, but that would make you have to raise the front too. Domino effect here! There are several threads on here in projects that go through cutting the rear of the bed so just search through some of the projects. I too would love to see what happens with this truck in the long run. Keep us updated! -
In the factory circulated magazine thats distributed at the dealers, there are rumblings of an electric Wrangler, which is one of the two Jeep electric models they are talking about. And Fiat won't kill the Wrangler... its too valuable of an asset, seeing as its now being sold to militarys around the world again, and what is the Jeep company without its Iconic Wrangler? I hope our dealer gets some of the new Fiat 500's! If its as good as they say it is, that may be the replacement for my Hyundai Accent.

Rally Truck - need opinions on build

Clifford performance offers a 4 barrel intake and header for the 2.5. A holley 390 4bbl carb system, and header would help tremendously. As well as the other mods previously mentioned. I know that this system gets you away from the original injection, but I guess it depends on how you want to build it. Oh, and Accelerated Motion offers a range of different cam kits for the 2.5 also. This thing could be killer! -
HEY HEY HEY!!!!! Take it easy on the Hyundais! For what they are, they are a dayem reliable car! I know they aint nothing special, but they are good cars. I have 2 of them... A 1997 Accent which has made me and my wife through some tough times. And since the accent was so good, we bought a New 2005 Tucson, which for the price and what came with it has been one hellova small SUV. Show a little respect guys!

Not sure if this would apply to us or not.....

http://www.freep.com/article/20090610/N ... r+clunkers here's an update... it passed its first hurdle, and says that you would have to own a trade in for at least a year to be able to get the voucher... at least they were smart about one thing... keeping people from quickly buying a gas guzzler to trade it in on the voucher...I'm not saying I agree with this whole thing, but it is completely voluntary, says that the traded vehicle would be crushed, and its only value then would be the voucher, so its not like my car is worth 3000, and I get a voucher for 4500, equal to 7500 toward a new car, no its just the voucher value. Being I work for a dealer, I wonder if we could get any good parts off these thoings before they go to the crusher??? :brows: -
My 87 is the same way, though the connector for the radio is there in the dash behind the blockoff plate. The fuse for it is in the fuse box too. I assume thee wires for the speakers are there too, though not run into the doors. I think the wires for the Bpillar speakers are there too. You should just have to buy an adapter connector to go from the factory connector to change to whatever stereo youre going to hook up, and then plug into the speaker wires that already exist. If you find unused connectors at the bottoms of the a-pillars just make sure the color coding is right for your model year, or do a continuity test back to the stereo connector, I hope this helps!

Stock Guage Cluster issue
dasbulliwagen replied to Codycobra84's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Mine does that sometimes, In mine the fuse box is a little corroded and if you wiggle the fuses, or the fuse for the cluster to make it make contact again, that might fix it for you. Just happened to my wife the other day too, and I told her over the phone how to fix it to make it work again. When that fuse isnt making contact the alternator won't charge either because it doesnt have its idiot light power. -
What do you guys think? I know this has been tried befroe in different ways, but I don't think Ive seen it applied as an incentive like this. I know the classic car industry will be up in arms about it. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/art ... wD98N0K6O1

What is something like that usefull for? Keeping cargo from hitting the rear window? Adding weight? A place to mount lights? Seems to me like it doesnt have much use and really isnt that pretty (like a roll bar). Just my opinion.

new idea... I'm thinking diesel!
dasbulliwagen replied to atshannon88's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ive seen a few references to late model diesel cherokees on here. If thats true, what were they? I'm sure they are rare if they exist, and wouldnt that be the most straightforward swap? Any info on them woiuld be great for everyone to know about.
