    Thanks, Gents

    Dang. Good luck.
  2. Way off topic but if you are putting OME on it, I would really encourage you to add OME shocks and an OME steering stabilizer. Don talked me into them. You will love them. Ask Don what he thinks of the OME shocks. He has a set.
  3. I don't know how the connectors look on your speakers but have you considered they may be out of phase? I had a similar issue in my home theater a few years ago but it was one channel iirc. Don't know if that is possible with your connectors or not.
  4. I have a chief. They have stickers along the side and along the hood. A vinyl sign guy measured and photographed the originals and made them. They turned out pretty well. If your other source comes up empty, I would suggest you give that a shot.
  5. Seriously, I wonder if the can of air freshener next to the glove box goes with the truck? :hmm: BTW, I have always been a sucker for those tube bumpers. I know they were a low cost option for the factory one but I think they look great on an MJ.
  6. You know something I find odd about this type of behavior. Don't get me wrong racism is for the ignorant. But the clippers owner has been banned from the NBA for being an ignorant jerk (in the privacy of his own home I might add). But illegal behavior by players or coaches that causes others permanent physical harm is brushed aside or buried. Figure that out.
  7. For what it is worth, mine has low miles which means it sat quite a bit. It ran rough when I first got it. I tried everything. Finally, I gave up and took it to a dealer. EGR valve and solenoid did the trick. I would drive it 1,000 miles now with no concerns (except the AC doesn't blow cold ).
  8. I have to agree. The amount of time and money it takes to get something to a certain level is irrelevant when you compare it to it's value. Just because you invest time and money in an old truck doesn't make it worth that. I put a lot of money in mine. That doesn't make it worth that much. BTW, It may be the sheet metal but to me it looks dented. If mine were for sale, I would ask whatever I could get out of it. I am just a little surprised that people are actually bidding it up that high. "Baja Race Trophy Truck"? Come on. Someone is going to be pretty disappointed.
  9. I don't understand. I am not trying to be judgmental but why is the bidding at $8k? Plus the reserve isnt met yet. What makes it a baja truck? Or a trophy truck for that matter. I am serious. I don't get it. To me it is a lifted mj. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Comanche-Show-Truck-Baja-Race-Trophy-Truck-lifted-4x4-xj-mj/201084963148?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.RVI%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3D6741712377698628395%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D20131017132637%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D201084963148
  10. turbines. Absolutely.
  11. I think it looks pretty good with the minor lift in the rear. I don't know why but my MJ always seemed to have a minor lift in it compared to other MJ's on the road even when new. I replaced the rear springs with what I thought were the same as the factory springs but they put some lift in it similar to yours. But after I replaced the front springs (OME Springs), it gave it a minor lift in the front which balanced it back out again. I wish I would have kept those original rear springs, even if just for documentation purposes. BTW, did they remove the flairs when they painted it? Mine had rust behind them. The rust was visible on the rears but not the fronts until they removed the flairs. My truck is from Indiana though.
  12. That looks like a factory roll bar with a factory bed light. Does the light work ok with the roll bar in front of it?
  13. What a mess. Even the spare bed is gone. Nice rubber bed mat though. That might be the only thing worth saving. It is good to see you passed on it.
  14. If you like the golden eagle motif, I would suggest painting it to mimic it as suggested above without trying to make it look like a clone. For example, where it says "Golden Eagle" on the side, change it to "Comanche" instead. Then it will still look retro without being a copy job. Otherwise, it may look like you are trying to paint a GTO Judge paint scheme on a Chevelle.
  15. The only advice I can offer is to be careful. I had a lady hit me when I was driving my 6 month old Tahoe. She also had Progressive insurance. They responded same day but got on the phone and called all the junkyards in the area to find a hood and fender for a 6 month old truck. I told them they couldn't put used parts on a new truck but I think the guy had an inner ear problem. Fortunately, they didn't find any. The body shop pretty much told me they work for the insurance company and not the auto owner.
  16. We have folks like that around here too but they live in a county slightly to our north.
  17. Keep in mind these can have rust problems. Mine is located in the Ft Wayne, IN area and the only thing that saved it was that it had 87k miles. My floorboards and frame were clean but the body had problems. If you are willing to spend that kind of money, look to the southern states and you will get something much cleaner for the same money. Also, as was implied in the above post, if they can't take the time to clean out the cab so that it doesn't looks as if it is used as a trash can, what do the fluids look like? Then again, maybe the fluids aren't a problem. Maybe there aren't any? :)
  18. I used to own a '95 grand Cherokee Orvis. I thought upcountry meant LSD, 1 3/4' lift and special shocks. Orvis came with skids and tow hooks but up country didn't guarantee it. Dang it Rob. I wish you didn't ask that question. I sure wish I didn't trade that thing. :(
  19. I have owned my truck longer than probably anyone on this forum. I recall taking the MJ into the back field and getting stuck in a small ditch about 2 ft across and 1'deep and wet. I couldn't understand what went wrong. Then I found that the switch that activates the 4wd went bad. It cost me $30 for repairs IIRC. That and a sensor went out a couple of years ago causing rough idle. Other than that, so far so good. They are absolutely bulletproof.
  20. This won't help much but it takes a lot of horsepower to turn bigger tires. On the other hand, lugging an engine doesn't get you too much either. I have a 4.0 and 3.07. I treat it like a 4 speed. Sometimes, I can get it into 5th but if I hit a hill, it won't maintain it. If you were to change gearing, going to 3.07 would be the last thing I would do.

Let me guess. Cobol on a mini and/or mainframe right? I can tell by your wit.
  22. The D44 comment seemed a little misleading. It wasnt limited to metric ton. It was also an option for other years. They called it the "heavy duty axle".
  23. Not true. I was Comanche of the Month awhile back. :rotf:
  24. Not to get too far off subject but I installed a similar sound deadening product in mine. I wanted to sound deaden particularly around the b-pillars. I was a little afraid of it holding moisture so I installed it on the back of the plastic parts rather than on the steel itself. It seemed to help but of course it could have been my imagination.
  25. Maybe I am one of those odd folks but I personally like how the Comanche looks in stock form. I would leave it alone.
