Project "Grandpa Jeep" (the anti-build)
dancome433 replied to jpnjim's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
looks good so far, I like the old grandpa style, its something different, shows that its a true survivor -
The roof looks like its slanting upwards in the back, probably because the MJ roof higher than an XJs roof
-
Yea I remember that one, it was on ebay, it was the same color as this one, but had a ebnch seat with the smae seat pattern and I think it was a long bed
-
that looks good, nice job with the body, I have to agree with Squeegy410, not very fond of the exhuast, but everyone has their own opinion
-
Anybody doing the 97+ conversion have a wire diagram for making the adapter for the newer headlight harness to adapt to the old style wiring harness? It would much appreciated rather than having to go through every wire figurin out which does what

Looking for some interior parts for my new to me comanche
dancome433 replied to Ironwolf's topic in Wanted
there was a guy on ebay who was selling comanche decals, I know he had Pioneer, Sport Truck, and maybe Eliminator, I looked it up all he has right now is Sport Truck, but if you contact him maybe he'll have Pioneer decals http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MJ-JEEP- ... 58858c9a2d -
nice start so far, at least you know what youre getting yourself into. BTW, kinda off topic, but in your second pic I see a 944 in the back, I can't really tell but looks like a turbo model, whats the deal with it
-
thanks you guys, that was the probelm, so much easier to drive it up the drive and into the garage than to push up the driveway,
-
Yea its cheap thing to do, but its time consuming, and not every one has the space, tools, or knowledge to do it, i think thats why its a little pricey
-
thanks, I think know exactly where that ground wire is also, right behind the left tail light right?
-
Alright so I'm swapping the bed off of my MJ right now, and after I pulled my old bed out I tried to start the truck but it won't turn over. My guess is its not getting gas, but any one else have any idea why it won't start?

truck looks very nice, good job so far

1989 Comanche Pioneer... first MJ
dancome433 replied to dancome433's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Well got everything tightened up on the suspension, drove it around the neighborhood, no shaking, vibrations, or DW. Also added a brand new set of 31/10.50/15 BFG ATs, I got as part of a trade for an old Grand Wagoneer I had. I'm gonna change the wheels eventually, I jus got the wheels with the tires so I havent been able to swap them for anythin else yet. On a different note, I got everything together to swap the new front end and doors, and a cleaner bed together, then my friend wrecked her 98 XJ. And me being a good friend, I helped her out and gave her my passenger fender, header panel, and bumper. I jus figured she needed it more than I do at the time. So I need to go find another header panel and fender, I can get the bumper from my buddies xj that he rolled a year ago and is gonna build a trail buggy out of. -
good luck with the forum man, BTW you spelled "wheelin trips" wrong, don't know if you caught that or not

You ever "HAD to have something" 89 Pioneer content
dancome433 replied to Gig Pig's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
man except for the color, our trucks are pretty much the exact same, mine is an 89 pioneer 6cyl 4x4 5spd, with low miles(93xxx), and my interior color is the same as my exterior, very nice find any future plans? -
87 J10? Baraboo, WI
dancome433 replied to Geonovast's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
83 was the last year for FS Cherokees, but they built j10s and j20s up until 87, so that really is an 87, there are some rumors of 88 j10s floating around but who knows, -
Hey I'm in the south, and my first wagoneer was a rust bucket, probably because it spent its live at the beach. I pulled up my carpet up on my MJ of what I thought was a southern truck, had surface rust, but no holes, then did a carfax and found out it was from new york

Thats ridiculous, I wonder if theyre a member on here, if thats how much this guy is will ing to pay for those tail lights, I wonder how much he would pay for a tail gate, :brows:, I guess its time to start putting stuff on ebay
-
I always waited for someone to park in my spot when I was high school so that I could tow them out :D, never happened though, but I did go to school with some rich kids, and I would park next to the Mercedes and BMWs with my Jeep dripping mud, or in my old beat up wagoneer
-
the white one is a nice deal,
-
I just posted on your thread on ifsja, and I agree with them, does need work and does seem a little overpriced, you can find plenty of them out there, out of all the fsjs ive ever had I never paid more than $1600 for any of them, and I did get a few good running ones, one that even had 49000 orginal miles, but the drawback on it was the rust :wall:, good luck on your decision

'88 Eliminator... Feb. 2009 - June 2026
dancome433 replied to neohic's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Truck looks good man, nice job on everything -
Man and I thought I got some weird trade offers, the latest I got for my dodge 2500 was for a guy to come paint my house. But some of those offers to you seem reasonable, compared to what i have had offered to me for my stuff in the past.

this guy has been trying to sell it for a while, I would love to have it
