how many miles on your truck's factory engine?
MiNi Beast replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Swapped mine out long ago. But it is still a stock 4.0. I swear by factory equipped rigs, or stock equipment that is. Parts readily available and it stays running. Its when you start adding power features to a stock engine i have found starts causing more failures. Same reason my 6.0 diesel is still running good. Everything is still stock. -
Best regards good sir. To those that shovel snow, it isnt the shoveling per say that gets you, its the fact of it being colder out. The cold weather makes it harder on our bodies when we do work in it. So yes work smarter and not harder in the cold no matter what your doing.

So swapped in a 92 steering column from a air bagged equipped 95 column. Just matched wires by color and $#!& worked beautifully. Had extra wires for sure hut nothing i needed. Biggest thing was I now had a key that worked and blinkers and wipers worked. So i was bbn impressed with it all working. I'm not a wire guy by any means, but i fingered it out. Two weeks later i no longer had working brake lights or blinkers. Tail lights still work though. So not sure what happened. I have now everything back apart rechecking all my splices, all good there. Did some research and relays have been questioned. So this is where i scratch my head, went got a new one for the fuse panel on the firewall per the book notes. Funny thing is I didn't have one there for hazards or turn signals. Perhaps my issues. So intended on install of rely and well doesn't fit hole. Yes properly installed just nothing to receive it. Meaning i put it in the holes and it falls back out. Seems as if theres no slots to accept rely. As far as connecting amongst the plastic holes provided. What i can get is it was working before but now its not. Lol I'm so bewilder about it. So I need some random suggestions to help me figure this out.

Check fuel pressure, crank sensor, typical tune up routine. Get a haynes manual for sure as will be a good aide. Also recheck tps and ensure set properly. All i got off top of my head. Others will chime in. Welcome to the club eh!

Got a gear box installed last night in jeep. My building has shifted back to the overland setup. I really enjoy driving the jeep every where so it shall be built to do just that. Had to pull the bed liner out though. Anyone in need of a comanche long bed bed liner?

MJ ownership is an adventure. Mine sat for a few years with nothing more then sitting in it and pondering what itll be like when rolling again. Let it sit itll be there when ready to tinker on it again. don't let the flames consume your love for the MJ. Break it, fix it, repeat!! -

Got a gear box for the overland stuff and living out of installed in the rig today. One day I'll figure on using a welder to help make things a little easier for install. Until then... self tappers for the win! -

Well organized write up. Pics do help and make up for a lot of words. Good little project you have going and on a decent budget thus far. What are you doing in regards to the dash wiring, splicing or swapping to 99 dash setup?
