  1. neat! plans?
  2. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:
  3. it did it again. flushing the cache fixed it, but what the heck is causing this headache? :fs1:
  4. anyone else? I'll be ending off the spreadsheet on friday.
  5. been driving it for a while now and I've got a bit more info. sometimes (not always) when I go to accelerate from a stop, the engine will rev (as if I had shifted into neutral) and then the trans will suddenly bang hard when it does go into gear. If I catch it in time, I can back off the gas and the bang is much less harsh.
  6. :waving: so sad about losing your other one though. :(
  7. It's totally free, so there's nothing to lose. :D
  8. just got a request from our contact to update the "roster" for our club. does anyone else want a discount card? you get 10% off of most anything they sell. send me a PM with your name / address / phone# / email address and I'll pass it along. they will then send you a club card in the mail.
  9. :rotf:
  10. yes, the 96. and a 136 alt sounds reeeealy good at the moment. guess I'm driving back out to the junkyard soon. :D
  11. didn't think so be wanted to be sure before hitting the junkyard again. this "free" XJ is sure costing me a pretty penny to get it running right. :ack: (not that it's a surprise to anyone)
  12. sounds like the bearing in my XJ's alt isn't long for this world.
  13. how to post a picture: http://comancheclub.com/topic/37727-how-to-post-pictures/
  14. no love for the JK? :rotf:
  15. that fish is almost as big as her!
  16. see, I had just done that (and was thinking that doing it caused my problems) but sure enough clearing them again fixed it.
  17. try yanking out the intermittent box. it's a small plastic box under the dash on the drivers side with a plug going in and a plug going out. remove the plugs and plug them into each other (which is how it is in non-intermittent trucks). that should tell you if the box is bad.
  18. do you have intermittent wipers?
  19. ------------------- Dunno if this is what you're talking about, but a lot of the time the forum won't make my post unless I use the 'more reply options' page. ------------------ yup, that's what I'm talking about. can't use quote, can't use the quick reply, and even now I have no smilies.
  20. 4.10 was also available. and you can get matching 4.28ish gears for a waggy front 44. :D
  21. not only is it a 44, the v6 models had disks and 4.something gears. :D only caveat is the yoke will need to be swapped for a normal ujoint one.
  22. I don't have the words to describe how awesome it is to be daily driving a Jeep again. :D (even if it is just an automatic)
  23. It's part of the next phase. also on that list are fixing the A/C, new valve cover gasket, tracbar (little loose), alternator (squeals sometimes), etc. on the plus side, the bolts to the broken rear bumpstop came right out. should be a cinch to replace it now. :D
  24. and they are quite rare. you've got a much better shot at an 8.25 axle found under a lot of 97+ XJs (they used the Dana 35 at the same time so make sure you know the DIFFerence). It's almost as strong as the 44 and way more plentiful. car-part.com might be able to locate any of those choices for ya.
