  1. if I remember right, the 2.8 v6 MJs had a mechanical pump at the engine.
  2. no need to worry about that because the ax-5 won't bolt up
  3. yeah, if you overdo it, you could split the aluminum spacer. :(
  4. what is it that you have in the truck right now? if the 3.4L engine is complete, then it's not as bad as you might think.
  5. what about a listing in the DIY forum that has some basic info and then a link to your build thread? lots of great info just gets lost in the build threads because it's not all that searchable. :( "v8 swap" in the DIY forum would be so much easier to find (especially now that we have the index)
  6. tech Qs should indeed go in Tech. welcome to the addiction!
  7. perfection :D
  8. the harness connector right behind the drivers side rear tire is a known headache point. :(
  9. it's the little ones that make life worth living :D
  10. the bedliner should stick just fine to paint too. but read the specific instructions that your bedliner has. they are not all made of the same stuff.
  11. scroll down a bit. it's at the bottom of the first post.
  12. at least in that case I can see wanting to stop maybe :dunno: but if you bought one pair, was it really too much money to buy a second?
  13. that's in the link that Gene found in the DIY index  http://comancheclub.com/topic/40428-brake-bleeding/?p=407703
  14. specifically chemically clean  are you bedlining the whole truck?
  15. skim though the link in my sig. I thought we had a writeup on that.
  16. there should be a thread with bolt sizes in the link in my sig. it doesn't have everything quite yet, but it has a lot. :D
  17. be careful about shorter shackles. go too short and the leaf won't be able to flatten out and will bind. what about just throwing a couple bags of sand back there for a while?
  18. as the others have said, down south or out west will give you a truck that isn't falling apart. buy it, build it, and then never ever let it touch salt. our trucks tend to rot from the inside-out so by the time you see a problem with the rockers or frame or bedsides, it's waaaaaaay worse than it looks. :(
  19. questions should really go in the tech forum so that more eyeballs will see it in a timely manner and then the info will be searchable for later use. nice rig
  20. I love the build thread :D have you done a DIY thread yet on the swap?
  21. I have no doubt that just about everybody notices you :D most likely thinking "what was that?"
  22. are you building something that just holds up lights or something to protect your noggin?
  23. the rear bulbs are all double filament (except for the backup light of course). one filament is parking lights, one is for brake lights. as hippie said, you'll want to verify that all are the correct bulb.
