  1. I replaced my e12 bolts with studs. helped out with aligning the trans for installation.
  2. looks solid! don't let it touch the salt and you should be able to hand it down to your own grandkid.
  3. yup, obnoxious is the word I would use. I broke the pipe upstream of the muffler on a wheeling outing and had to drive 2 hours home. anything over 900 rpms attracted a lot of unwanted attention.
  4. send a message to Eagle. I'm sure he'd be willing to replicate it.
  5. not sure what those particular ones are for, but you'll find extra connectors all over the truck. Jeep tried to reduce the number of different harnesses they were making and so you'll have plugs for things that just don't exist.
  6. do you already have the 8.8 installed or is this hypothetical?
  7. a stick shift ZJ?! do you know how rare those are?
  8. to me, the fun is in the challenge. I could have done a straight-up 4wd swap but noooooo, I had to go with wacky ford suspension
  9. further research has shown that I can rent a cargo van from enterprise for a little more than the compact car and the van will come with unlimited miles and an attached "mobile apartment"
  10. well, first let's find out what you've got. 86 was the first model year for Comanches (though a bunch of those were made in 1985). but the Pioneer wasn't a trim level available in 86. you'll want to confirm what the truck is before going further. essentially you'll want to find a 2.5L/5speed/4wd XJ to do the conversion. will have everything you need but the rear shaft.
  11. most MJs have a bit of rack from back to front so the shackle lift works well to give a balanced look to a 2" front lift. what is the state of your current leafs? all rusty and sagging or clean looking and factory height?
  12. if you send me the password you'd prefer, I can set it for you. comancheclub@hotmail.com
  13. little under an inch per side.
  14. did this problem come on suddenly or slowly?

    It's home

is it... bent? or is a trick of the camera?
  16. it says "with metric ton leaf springs". not the same as saying it came with the metric ton package. you'd need a build sheet to know for sure.

I don't have high hopes, but I'm curious whether anything they do will fix some of the dead links left in our forum from when members deleted their pb account. probably not.
  18. keep us posted. sounds like a good upgrade.
  19. glad it helped. I was getting frustrated that google wasn't finding any part numbers.
  20. both XJ and WJ arms are widely available new.
  21. I mean the WJ arms are already fully boxed. and use WJ uppers as uppers. they are all the same length as MJ arms, just better built. notice that I nipped back the top arm int his picture:
  22. for lowers I would do new WJ arms (fully boxed with a bend for tire clearance). just need to trim the steel bushings flush so they fit inside the pockets (and maybe a bit of the arm end itself as shown in the pic). in fact you can do WJs for uppers too. the bushings set in the axle are the only sticking point left since they are, well, in the axle not the upper arms.
