  1. this is just a water seal, right?
  2. took me 4 or 5 tries to get it right
  3. super powers
  4. north GA isn't south GA. we do occasionally get "winter". especially at night. tonight is in the 20s but the high is up to the 50s tomorrow. once that sun comes up, so does the temp.
  5. "need" is probably too strong a word, but we only have a heat pump at the house and it gets dang cold in that big room (an addition) fed by a single duct (seemingly added as an afterthought to the original hvac system) surrounded by single pane windows on 3 walls when the temps drop below freezing. especially if the power goes out during a freak ice storm. that night suuuuuuucked. My grandfather was still here and keeping him warm was a challenge. also wood stoves look/smell/sound cool when you get a fire going
  6. couldn't resist setting the stove in place (and slapping a 4ft pipe on it) so we could get a feel for how it's all coming together.
  7. it's like these things were built to leak on purpose.

  11. siping is half the equation. a compound that stays super soft and pliable is the other half. I've had no trouble finding sizes in the 31" range, although availability is a whole 'nuther animal (especially is you wait until the snow flies to seek them out).
  12. it's got hardware on it. and it's white. and it's not in a box. 'tis nice for sure, but it's hard to call that NOS without documentation.
  13. stock 2dr flares will not match up on an MJ. but aftermarket flares seem to be more universal so there's a chance.
  14. just put antisieze on everything
  15. renix things that are plugged in are worth while. pretty much anything that's at the end of a wire other than the headlights.
  16. all of it ideally. I've got no idea what might be going on.
  17. weird! got pics of the front frame area? do the doors close fine?
  18. wet sand 2k? sure. I use the bathroom sink. I then end with 3k and/or a polish. but depending on how degraded they are, you might even need to start with a more course grain.
  19. that would be heavily dependent on what you're looking for; parts for you, or parts to sell, or parts to save from the crusher? also how much money you're willing to throw at this. buying a whole XJ can save a ton of cash over junkyard prices if the plan is reselling stuff.
  20. when replying to older threads, be sure to quote the guy so there's a better chance of him getting an email reminder
  21. I've had good luck with just polish if you're in to elbow grease if you paint, do make sure you paint them under ideal conditions. I got impatient with some XJ tails and the clear fogged up in the coldish weather.
