  1. the rear half of the rockers need some love, but that's waaay down the list. thankfully my KJ came with the plastic covers so it looks fine rolling down the road.
  2. the exhaust is a work in progress. I was able to salvage the middle hanger from my spare drivetrain. currently there are stainless hose clamps holding the pipe to the hanger. I'm not doing anything more until the Jeep proves reliable.
  3. no!!!!
  4. I've flat towed my MJ a time or 2 back in the day. I'm never ever doing that again. there's 0 tongue weight on the rear bumper and that makes driving... tricky. both for braking and for turning. there's nothing helping plant the rear tires and 3k pounds back there trying to push the back end sideways or even pick it up in the air during heavy braking.
  5. she's been parked for the entire time I was working on that black MJ. like, over a year. I'm super stoked to see the ol' girl moving again
  6. I was worried about droning at speed, but I don't even hear the exhaust over the other noises the Jeep makes. lol. today I installed some junkyard window rain vent thingies.
  7. I'm literally in the middle of caliper replacement on my Liberty due to stuck brakes. they don't last forever.
  8. chances are it's the brain box. those things are a real pain. most all I've ever gotten from the junkyards have been bad in some way.
  9. updates. removed the rotted exhaust, drilled a big access hole in the fender well, got the CPS out with an extraction socket, fabbed a new exhaust out of straight stainless pipe (still has the bend over the rear axle so I can keep my cool exhaust tip), and reassembled everything and made some promising (and cool sounding) trips around the block. but she's been sitting for a while when I was working on Breanne's MJ. a little too long. 3 of my 4 calipers seized up on me on the inaugural shakedown trip into town. tomorrow I address that. but the engine was revving like normal so I might have finally licked being stuck in limp mode all the time.
  10. was. both appear to have been snatched up.
  11. can't say I've ever thought about building a 2wd ATV out of a tractor, but it looks like fun!
  12. I reference mine far more than I ever thought I would. https://www.ebay.com/itm/257005549378
  13. time to reap the rewards of a job well done
  14. fantastic execution! I love it!
  15. excellent work! are you adding a gutter? it looks like the roof just dumps right onto the stairs.

    Worth?

just pick a number and see what happens. if it's too high, people will offer less.
  17. I have not. his last visit was in May.
  18. I wouldn't even attempt the upper bend. it's not going to be an identical-copy anyway, so in my mind there's no real point to it.
  19. there we go! found 20 for 10 bucks. in a few days we'll see how that works out.
  20. the way I always envisioned it was to make a left and right side that gets welded together (with a sleeve inside at the joint). that way you only need to make 2 different parts (half-a-hoop and a leg) and just make 2 of each.
  21. nice! but holy crap, that price! guess I'll be figuring out exactly how many I need rather than buying a 20 pack.
  22. do they exist out there whole with the base? if not, what size is the tiny, tiny bulb?
