man that thing was hit haaaaarrrrrrd. so hard that the bucket seat frames were visibly tweaked. I grabbed the covers though. those mirrors do not have the inner braces. curious if the build sheet shows anything. I salvaged all I could of the dark blue interior. a lot was cracked apart in the accident.
  2. 31s will work without trimming. and will rob less power.
  3. technically no, but you must use stock rims (or else the tires get pushed into the flares while turning) and it's a good upgrade to add in WJ lower arms to handle any rubbing. also, not all 31s are actually the same size so it's possible that the larger ones might not fit without some minor rubbing.
  4. there are dozens of ways for water to get in. do make sure you test after plugging the most obvious hole.

    mmmmmmmmmmm,.....
  10. just keep in mind that it's an old truck with an old engine. don't expect any miracles. below 2500 is your torque, above 2500 is your horsepower. use the big handle to your right to get the engine where it wants to be.
  11. scratches can happen as the corrosion breaks free and then gets ground into the surface. think of this as polishing rather than a cleaning. gotta use a light touch. next up would probably be a soft cloth to try and buff the scratches out. maybe done with a true polishing compound this go around.
  12. I could feel it in your post that you wanted something less than the best. but I had to suggest it anyways.
  13. for the shiny bits I would start with just toothpaste and a toothbrush and see what happens. I wouldn't get more aggressive with the poish until that fails.
  14. so barring anything actually broken with what ya got: torque is found below ~2500, HP is found above. that's just how our engines work. if you wanna go fast, gotta rev it. but my advice is to slow down rather than throwing money at more HP. contrary to what you might see on the freeways in Atlanta, driving on public roads is not a race. There's no winning. no trophy. just a never-ending roll of the dice to see if today is the day that someone staring at their phone messes up your truck. brakes are where I'd invest my cash. and a bigger swaybar. maybe a rear swaybar too. whatever helps me dodge the idiots better. try swapping the coils left to right. it might not be the springs doing the lean. but either way, RE does sell a decent product. another option is simply shoving an extra spring isolator on the low side.
  15. because it's the best commuter ever. if I remember right, 2008 is the first year for the fully fold-in-the-floor seating.
  16. chrysler minivan. you sit up high and can see over cars in traffic, and it's literally the most useful thing ever.

found rotting in the back of a a NC junkyard.
  18. dragged home #27 and #28 last night. one is half wrecked, the other is also a bit rough. seeing as no one is buying my beds that are in decent shape, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with these. beside store them. maybe I'll look into doing that stonehenge wall after all.
  19. is there any 12v power at the light?

  21. the peugeot was tougher than the 4 banger's ax5 for sure.
  22. far as I can tell the "wide" refers to the current Jeep dana 35 in the fat Wranglers. pretty much a whole different animal just with the same name.
