the odo is adjustable if you need the new one to match there are some youtube vids on it

87-90 will work but you'll need to swap the clip that attaches the speedo to the back of the cluster (84-86 is a different design than 87-90) 91+ won't work for the older rigs

while poking around trying to remove the harness I found mouse issues in the wiper parts. might as well remove that too I guess.

she's up on stands had to buy another pair of 6 tonners, but oh well. I think I own 8 pair of stands now? now that the tires are out of the way, I find the rear flaps are actually fronts

how much of the wire harness is different? my searching keeps flooding the page with recharges and 134 swaps and I can't find a conversion swap specific to the early HO Jeeps

well, after a month of being way more ill than normal, I'm finally back at it. the biggest update is that we're going to hire a dry ice blasting service at some point, so I'm tweaking the plan so we can take full advantage of that when it happens. currently stripping the engine bay as best I can, finding fun new problems as I go. eventually I need to pull the bed so we can clean the underside and the frame on the day of spray. fun with rust! this is the airbox hardware

I went with the hammer-a-socket method and was successful got the nut off with a 10mm socket (pretty sure it used to be 13mm ) snapped the one using a standard socket got the other whole one out using a 12mm now I need to find my extractor set and see if I can remove the snapped bit out from the bottom

any tips? only one is still a 13mm. the other 2 are rotted. there's no way I'm the first to deal with this. I assume I'll need to drill them out but am open to other ideas. not a lot of access in there for that back one

found an older Porsche Cheyenne twin turbo at the self serve yard the other day. poor thing used to be a real nice ride. but anyway, I grabbed the speakers out of it and though I'd share. on the right are the primary door speakers with the inverted magnet design for minimal depth applications, and the other is the "sub" woofer from the back of the SUV. reeeeeally stretching accuracy to use the word "sub" though. the magnet is large, the cone is... not. not sure what I'm going to do with them yet, but they were odd enough I had to grab them. (plus it was half-off day. plus the pancake speakers were "part of" the 97 XJ doors I bought so they were free. the same doors that somehow had the door panels off the 95 XJ that was next to it ) side note, BMWs seem to come with tiny speakers all around and are not worth pulling the door panel to check.

I think the 5 spoke rims came out in 88
