make sure the hard parts work with your truck. a 4.0 and a 2.5 don't share much when it comes to transmissions.

so the junkyard sun visor (forgot what it came from) does a great job of blocking the sun (it's just a bit longer than factory), but because the mount isn't factory it annoyingly wobbles a bit. so I grabbed a spare visor clip (every Libby owner should have a few extra for when they inevitably break) and screwed it to the ceiling

can't say I remember anyone doing that.

I would try and isolate potential causes such as: leave the truck off and the radio blasting for a while. fire up the truck, let it idle for a while and leave everything else off. drive around without non-essential electrical things on.
