  1. They fit on my 90 ok, but I haven't road tested it yet. It is important to have stock Jeep rims for this. Any other rims and you'll need a 3" lift.
  2. Saw this one at the dunes a few years ago:

    stupid spammers!

I thought we had a key-code thingy? :hmm:
  4. That's the one that made me uncertain if I was correct. I knew the longer one was a graft, but that dosn't necessarily mean that this shorter one wasn't. I wish my memory worked better.
  5. If I remember right, he cut the two vehicle's frames and merged them together. But I might be thinking of another one.
  6. Go to a photo hosting site like picturetrail.com and upload your pics. Then, while you're viewing the pic you want to post, right click on it and copy the address. Then come here and click on the IMG button. Then paste the pic's address. Then click on the IMG button again. It's easy once you get the hang of it, I promise. :D
  7. I remember when the guy was selling that cheromanche. We kept asking for more pics, but that's about all he provided. No clue what happened to it since.
  8. The bellhousing on the 3550 is integrated, meaning that it doesn't remove from the trans.
  9. yeah, cause there's nothing illegal about that...
  10. They don't fit very well, if at all.
  11. The mommy-van? :hmm: Are you refering to the minivan or the Liberty? I can't wheel the libby until my folks buy it this winter. Until then it's still somebody else's lease. :D How much is a libby lift kit anyway? :brows: I could definitely see myself wheeling with 295 ft-lbs of torque.

    stupid spammers!

Yeah, it's a bummer that it isn't a simpler process to delete them. I'll put some more time into it later this week.
  13. In my head I was thinking that the Tech would be for general topics or questions and this forum was for specifically for sharing pics of people's projects. That way their posts wouldn't disappear into the vast sea of tech questions. While there is a bit of overlap between the two (especially when the original poster starts asking questions  ), I haven't figured out a better way just yet.
  14. I carry a refillable water fire extinguisher for times like that. All I need is a source of water and a source of air and I have a high pressure water cannon. :D Also works wonders on the lights and windows if I have to drive on the streets between the mud and my campsite.
  15. My 88 is down for the count and on the back burner, but maybe my 90 will be up and running by then. :brows:

    whats it worth

If it makes you feel any better, $600 isn't all that unheard of for an AX-5 and 231. Sure there are cheaper ones here, but not all of them are cheap.
  17. Cheaper than beadlocks: I bought a used co2 tank and a non-adjustible 100psi regulator. Has no troubles seating a bead. :D
  18. There are DOT approved beadlocks out there, but they are the "internal" variety.
  19. I've only heard the sidewall issue from one guy and he was wheeling in sharp rocks. Mine have held up just fine to all the abuse I throw at them.
  20. Varmint: noun, One that is considered undesirable, obnoxious, or troublesome. I think Rick named his MJ well. :D
  21. Day 2 at Moab. This is my camping site: And on to the trails! My time in Moab was way WAY too short. Next time I get out there, I'm spending a week at least! It's incredibly addicting!
  22. BFG MTs and Trxus MTs are decent mud tires that will also work good on the road (unlike the TSLs).
  23. A neat little trick I learned once for tracking down a short is to pull each fuse and check the circuit with an amp meter. Be sure that you don't have anything running at the time (like the interior light cause the door is open).
  24. The Peugeot bellhousing will NOT bolt to the AX-15. You must get a bellhousing with the AX-15. The NV series transmissions are stronger and better then the AX-15, but as he said, they are newer and will cost more. Stay away from YJ/TJ transmissions if you want a bolt-in experience. They are a bit different than XJ/MJ transmissions. The 242 is supposedly not quite as strong as the 231, but that only comes into play if you're truly abusive when wheeling or running really big tires.
