  1. Go to your "profile", scroll down to the bottom and you can upload your own avatar. Pay attention to the limits. If you have trouble getting a pic to be small enough, PM me and I can do it for you.
  2. Because there are literally hundreds of thousands of D35s in the world and the vast majority of them work just fine. P.S. Should I also mention that it was a 2wd truck? :brows:
  3. But remember that for some of the year changes, you must swap everything. You can't just swap hoods between 86 and 88, you must swap all associated parts so the hood latch mechanism works. You can't just pick and choose what front end parts from an 91 to put on an 88. The entire front facia must be swapped as a unit. There's a ton of interchangeability throughout the years, but plenty of little changes that can cause headaches.
  4. My D35 started spitting gear teeth with only 30s, but I bet you'll be just fine with 31s. :D
  5. I have a 91 tailgate on my 86 and it works fine.
  6. By my calculations, the 235/75 comes out at 29.3x8.9 and the 235/85 is at 31.7x9.3. Seems to me the 235/85 will be too tall for a stock MJ which can fit some 31" tires (but only because many tires listed in inches are actually smaller than the stated height).
  7. Out of curiosity, how much does a crushed MJ sell for as scrap?
  8. The front shaft ahould be the same for the 242 and 231, but it is a bit different from manual trans to auto trans. Did this 3550 come from a TJ or XJ?
  9. They fit on my 90 ok, but I haven't road tested it yet. It is important to have stock Jeep rims for this. Any other rims and you'll need a 3" lift.
  10. Saw this one at the dunes a few years ago:

I thought we had a key-code thingy? :hmm:
  12. That's the one that made me uncertain if I was correct. I knew the longer one was a graft, but that dosn't necessarily mean that this shorter one wasn't. I wish my memory worked better.
  13. If I remember right, he cut the two vehicle's frames and merged them together. But I might be thinking of another one.
  14. Go to a photo hosting site like picturetrail.com and upload your pics. Then, while you're viewing the pic you want to post, right click on it and copy the address. Then come here and click on the IMG button. Then paste the pic's address. Then click on the IMG button again. It's easy once you get the hang of it, I promise. :D
  15. I remember when the guy was selling that cheromanche. We kept asking for more pics, but that's about all he provided. No clue what happened to it since.
  16. The bellhousing on the 3550 is integrated, meaning that it doesn't remove from the trans.
  17. yeah, cause there's nothing illegal about that...
  18. They don't fit very well, if at all.
  19. The mommy-van? :hmm: Are you refering to the minivan or the Liberty? I can't wheel the libby until my folks buy it this winter. Until then it's still somebody else's lease. :D How much is a libby lift kit anyway? :brows: I could definitely see myself wheeling with 295 ft-lbs of torque.

    stupid spammers!

Yeah, it's a bummer that it isn't a simpler process to delete them. I'll put some more time into it later this week.
  21. In my head I was thinking that the Tech would be for general topics or questions and this forum was for specifically for sharing pics of people's projects. That way their posts wouldn't disappear into the vast sea of tech questions. While there is a bit of overlap between the two (especially when the original poster starts asking questions  ), I haven't figured out a better way just yet.
  22. I carry a refillable water fire extinguisher for times like that. All I need is a source of water and a source of air and I have a high pressure water cannon. :D Also works wonders on the lights and windows if I have to drive on the streets between the mud and my campsite.
  23. My 88 is down for the count and on the back burner, but maybe my 90 will be up and running by then. :brows:
