  1. Given identical backspacing and wearing the same tires, a 7" wide rim would still move the tire 1/2" farther out than a 6" rim. Could make all the difference in the world.
  2. For some reason I was thinking they had a pair of injectors. Dunno. I don't own a 2.5, yet. :D
  3. There's a chance one of the fuel injectors is not functioning properly.
  4. I don't think that's a "factory" manual.

If you find any F-16s in the dumpster, grab me one will ya? :D
  6. Maybe the fact that it's lower than a 4wd but still with 30" tires? I feel it gives it a great look. :D There will be some common features. I plan to take my favorite stuff from the red truck (like lining the rockers with poly bedliner and installing some tie down rails in the bed) and then add in the stuff I always wished for (like 31" tires).
  7. He's looooong gone, but I felt the need to alter his post. :D
  8. Mine already does that. But that's probably because my Ford front suspension doesn't flex much at all. In SOA form, MJ leafs can do a great job of keeping up with all but the best front set-ups. In my opionion the 3 best reasons for go coils in the rear is 1: What Brett just said 2: Hacking off the rear end to gain ground clearance 3: Boredom and the fact that designing suspensions is fun. :D
  9. The CPS tells the computer where the engine is in it's rotation and the computer won't fire until it is absolutely positive it knows exactly where the engine is in it's rotation.
  10. All I did was trim the ends of the bolt's sleeve. Don't know yet if that's all I need to do, but with the bit of trimming in the other places you see, it's all I had to do to make it fit. :D I saw an article from a guy who didn't cut anything to get them in his XJ, but we can't simple "bend" the lower control arm mounts on the body like he did.

But on that particular plane, you need clearance for both the water and the pilots head, while still maintaining a good COG. Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. :chillin:

    please reply

  13. Are you talking about making the logos into decals? Currently they are simply bumper stickers and the sticker itself will always be a solid color.
  14. Yeah, I sorta miss how she used to look and drive. That was a big motivator for getting the 90. But I also wanted to add in those extra features I'd always desired in the 88, things like all-wheel-drive and 31" tires. :D
  15. Mine were whatever the typical Jeep BS was, 5.25" maybe? I forget.
  16. Oh, and if the JP Pete wants any ComancheClub stickers, I'd be happy to oblige. :D

If your leafs are shot, I'd advise hunting down a good set of 4x4 MJ leafs to work with. car-part.com may be able to help. And if you give me a few more days, I'll be able to update everyone on usig Explorer leafs (which are infinitely more abundant in the yards).
  18. Just in case anyone was wondering, no that's not me he's referring too. :D Although I would work for pennies a day. :brows: And in Cappa's defense, I find JP the most entertaining read of all my 4x4 mags. Even articles I have no particular interest in learning anything from, I'll still read because they're usually funny. :D Oh, and if he comes back again, this question is for him: I was wondering specifically where you got the info for the article and can we get ahold of that person? Is there a Jeep phone number we can call? I'd like to iron out some of the discrepencies. (like when exactly was the 242 offered in an MJ? or what the heck is an "optional" gear ratio? I don't remember that.) Thanks! Jeep on! --Pete
  19. I think that's the shop I stopped by on the way back from Moab when I needed to tweak my control arms bushings. :D
  20. Not turbines, I had the 5 spokes. I think they are 1" wider than stock steelies so maybe that is it. My 90 will be running stock steelies so maybe these arms were more important than I thought. :dunno:
  21. I wish I had $4900, period. But I gotta tell ya, if I had $4900 just sitting around, I'd hop a plane and go get it. :D
  22. Yup, when we can get around to putting together a website. Right now school is kicking my butt. Classes-->
  23. Or you can just start a new one.
  24. It's Target, as in the big red bulls-eye they use in their logo.
  25. Apparently I can change the poll around, but I can't change the votes. Looks like we need to start all over, cause I'd rather have Jeep green. P.S. I don't wear black. Waaaaaay too pale for that. :D
