  1. My guess is that it really isn't a FSM and they decided they don't want to ship it to you and then have to take it back because you're mad at them for being idiots. :teehee:
  2. The bend points down and is closer to the axle. It's to clear the coil spring perch when the axle droops. But I imagine it should work just fine if you need to mount it in a different orientation to clear your custom stuff.
  3. If I understand it correctly, the Waggy axles are a couple inches narrower than the stock MJ axles. My 88 has fullsize ford axle that are much wider than MJ axles.
  4. I'll sell mine... for about eleventy-bajillion dollars. :D
  5. Nope. While I won't stop anyone else from posting a link to an online manual they've uploaded somewhere else, I simply cannot have it added to our site due to the typical copywrite issues that I just don't want to deal with.
  6. The 86 Metric Ton MJ came with the MJ '20. It's a different width than an other '20s and has one piece shafts (obviously with the 5on4.5" pattern)
  7. But the '20 he's looking at won't match his front axle in bolt pattern or width. I too would take an MJ AMC-20 over the Explorer 8.8. It's cooler and bolts in. :D
  8. That size is where the 8.8 gets it's strength. The tubes are friggin' HUGE! :D Plus it'll handle 36" tires no problemo. But the diff itself doesn't hang any lower than the Dana 44. I just went out and measured and got 10.5" from top to bottom of my 8.8 and 44.
  9. Post it up here? As in the whole thing? If it is a FSM, that's huuuuuge!
  10. Throw in an octane booster too. The octane level dies with age.
  11. The XJ/MJ AX-4 is essentially identical to the XJ/MJ AX-5 except for the 5th gear. Be careful though, there were some changes over the years in output shaft length, but you should be ok since your truck is 87 and the trans should be about as old. I think the changes started in 91 or something like that.
  12. All FSJ AMC-20s will have 1-piece shafts. Only the CJ got screwed with the 2-parters. If you're keeping you front axle, go find yourself a 95-01 Explorer 8.8 rear axle. Stronger than a Dana 44 and has disk brakes.
  13. Yup.
  14. You might want to look into upgrading your front shafts to ones that use the bigger U-joints (or go aftermarket) and kiss your Dana 35 goodbye.
  15. Which automatic?
  16. 4.88s. Axles?

You could not be more wrong. Now, I may not make it my desktop image, but... :D
  18. Speakers in the dash? :hmm:
  19. Out of curiousity, what size tires are going along with this 8" lift? Axles? Gears?
  20. Well, there is no "easy" way. There's just the way. :D http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1988 http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1704 http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=169
  21. The T-case isn't the cause of the clocking, the trans has the holes moved over slightly.
  22. The shifter handle might be different too. The TJ shifter that came with my AX-15 is a little weird.

:rotfl2: :clapping: Funniest thing I've read all day. :D
  24. Try car-part.com for junkyard parts. And I concur, the F-250 high-pinion Dana 44 is the thing to get. :D
