  1. Dang. Beat me to it. :D
  2. POR15 likely won't last on the springs. It's a ceramic that doesn't flex with the steel.

    Fay is on the way

Maybe some of that rain will hit northern Georgia. They could use the aqua.
  4. Do you have covers for these lights? That should satisfy the coppers.
  5. I wonder how well cop lights would adapt. Then they could be aimed. :D
  6. Is it any of these?: http://4x4icon.com/offroad/willys_lettering/index.htm
  7. I know the leaf spring bolts and lower control arm bolts are 14mm with a 2.00 pitch and need to be about 110 mm long.
  8. What's "electronic" about it? Speedo? 4wd light? Those can be worked around. Are you worried about shifting the front CAD axle? That can be worked around too.
  9. Then you should be fine.
  10. If it was free I still couldn't afford the gas to drive it home. :(
  11. That's a great idea! I'm putting you in charge of it. :D
  12. I just realized that I'm gathering up a collection of parts that would never be used on any of my current MJs, yet I can't seem to part with. I need a new MJ. A nice MJ. I've got a wheeler, a beater, and a hauler. All are rusty piles of crap. I want a nice one now. :brows: Too bad I'm poor as all get out. But the pile continues to grow. :D I love junkyards...
  13. Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha... :rotfl2: ..cough.. I mean, no. We're not that lucky. :(
  14. The image is from my picturetrail site. He still needs to set up an account.
  15. I also don't do much to fight rust these days. Everything I've ever done has eventually ended in failure, so the ambition to put much effort into it just isn't there anymore. :(
  16. Keep working at it. You'll get the hang of posting pics soon enough. :D
  17. I would have killed them years ago on tree branches. :( I don't even run standard mirrors anymore.
  18. I'm going over. I'm a rebel. :D But then I now have disks in the back and it's really simple to pop the calipers off and feed them over the leafs if necessary.
  19. POR15 won't work. I's a ceramic that won't bend with the leafs. I'd just do regular ol' paint and touch it up when it gets wanged.
  20. Just about any "all-terrain" tire should fit the bill.
  21. No build thread (to the best of my knowledge, as it has been a while), but I have lots of pictures at my picturetrail account down in the "protection" folder. http://www.picturetrail.com/petermontie Just lemme know if you have any questions.
  22. The calipers changed over the years so it might be a better shot than you think to get AMC parts. :brows:
  23. Fenders are cheap at the pull-your-part junkyards.
  24. You could still have a pocket of air trapped in the back of the head.
  25. These guys are both in the same boat. http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11199 I have not done the conversion, but you'll need everything under the hood associated with the A/C, the A/C heater core box, and all the vacuum tubing and the controls in the dash. Basically everything that touches the A/C. Converting to 134 is simple enough so focus on getting parts junkyard that are in good shape. New parts are exceedingly expensive. It may even be worth it to buy a donor XJ that has working A/C and then sell off the rest of the Jeep when you're done.
