  1. Welcome!! :waving: Do you have any pictures to share?
  2. Looks like the PO didn't read my post about opening the hood. :(
  3. Whatever you do, don't use roofing tar. No matter how convenient it would be to use some from the half-can in the garage. Man what a mess that was. :(
  4. Not sure. Maybe it just wedged itself in there once it was loose. You should be able to figure that one out as you pry it back apart.
  5. Looks to me like the lug nuts got loose and allowed the rim to wobble around and beat itself to death. :(
  6. Looks good! :D Very creative! But I would add some diagonals. If the attachment at the front/bottom point gives out, then the whole thing will likely collapse forward.
  7. Sweet!
  8. WJs are the ones you're looking for. And you'll need to trim a small amount off the metal bushing core. I also needed to trim a bit off the arms themselves to get full droop.
  9. Yup, that's where they go. They aren't "holes" per se, they have these little brackets that hold them up to the grille. Not exactly the best design in my opinion. I dumped mine for a set of 6x9s in little boxes and then dumped those for a single 8" woofer in a little box. I bought quality speakers through out (components up front) and amped them up and it sounded fantastic.
  10. not entirely true. anyone can do it, whether they make it out alive is a different story. remember, reaction times at speeds MUST be much, much faster to avoid disaster. And much much more controlled. Doesn't take much more than a twitch of the steering wheel to start a catastrophic series of events.
  11. Brochures say 2 speakers, but don't say where they were.
  12. BBBBUUUUUUDDDDGGGGEEETTTTTT......... :D Juuuunnnnkkkk yyyaaarrrdddsss... :D http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7703 Must be you Chico, I don't see anything out of the ordinary. :D
  13. I love it! Looks like a chase truck (which it sorta is for you and your quads).
  14. You mean for your avatar? email me the fullsize pic and I'll take care of the rest. petermontie@hotmail.com As to the wrangler bumper, I imagine it might work. Depends on the width. I think wranglers are a bit more narrow. A better idea is buying your own steel and making one from scratch. It'll be stronger for sure (and probably cheaper). :D
  15. Diiiissskkkkk brrraaaakkkkeeesssss.... :D

    Would you???

That's an M-715. The biggest and baddest Jeep ever made. And that is one of the rare-ish hardtops. Totally removable of course. :D

    Would you???

    Yes, yes I would.
  18. The blowby in my 4.0 is so bad I had to install a bottle inline in the hose. This was a last-ditch effort (and was installed on the road), but works great. The tube runs in and sticks in a few inches, and then a second tube comes out but doesn't stick in as far. It traps the oil spray in the bottle and then the tube continues on to take the contaminated air to be burned in the engine like it's supposed to.
  19. Whoops. You're right. 4x6s. Looks like I can type faster than I can think. :D

    new jeep...

I agree. There's a better chance of finding a decent shape XJ with that limited of a budget. But some members have found some sweet deals on sweet trucks, so it's still possible.
  21. 5 1/4" in the doors, 3x5" behind the seats. Even the radio was optional, so not every truck came with every speaker.
  22. Be prepared that the auto will suck precious horsepower from the 2.5L. There's a reason why they were a rare option and a reason that the factory trucks came with 4.56 gears.
  23. I call that "broken in". Don't have to worry about getting that first scratch on the trail. :D Come up to Michigan. I'll show you what a trashed truck looks like. Floors missing, rockers toast, bed looks like swiss cheese... :brows: You guys in the no-rust belt are spoiled. 8)
  24. Looks like a great trail rig to me. :brows: Someone even removed the doors for ya. :D
  25. You mean the Grand Cherokee SRT-8? Not big enough and not a Diesel. I'm not saying I wouldn't want one someday :brows: , but it wouldn't make a good hauler for me.
