If you're trying to post an image, you'll need an address that looks like this: http://farm4.static.flickr. com/3231/3062280048_419f6124bc_o.jpg And then highlight it and click the IMG tag above the text box so [ img] appears before it and [ /img] appears after it. I got the above address by clicking on a pic, then right-clicking and hitting "copy image location". In the end it'll show up as:

The leafs were modified. The third leaf down was cut off behind the axle. I ssumed they were stock 2wd MJ, but can't say for sure. No ideas on the front coils though. The only info we have is those old photos. Nothing else has been found by the Chrysler archives. :(

Yeah, I think some of you are jumping to conclusions. I once accidentally found myself on one of the "quad trails" at The Badlands in Attica, IN (not that hard since the trails are poorly marked and the map sucks). It was a tight fit but we got through it. No one got mad at us (the one quad guy that tried to give us directions back to the 4x4 area seemed quite sympathetic to our plight). No lands were going to be shut down. Heck, very few plants were even harmed. It was a learning experience for sure.

I imagine most everything is viewable at one time or another at the Chrysler museum near their headquarters building in Auburn Hills, MI. Personally though, no museum could possibly hold a candle to a huge room full of car covers. It's like christmas. Not knowing what's under each wrapper til you peek.

Meh,, the stock bumper bolts are only there to keep the stock bumper from falling off on the freeway. I'd probably just skip it. Or better yet, buy/make a better one. :yes:

I went back and copied them and hosted them myself. This is only temporary though, and he still needs to figure out what happened (and more importantly, get some better pics :yes: ).

What hemi cars weren't there? :clapping: Honestly, so much info was thrown at me that day I remember very little. I sooooo wish I could have taken just a few pictures. :( I remember there was a couple Willys, a last-year Grand Wagoneer, the last XJ to roll off the line, a dozen Vipers (some race winners), the 2 Little Red Trucks, an old fullsize dodge baja truck, All the hemi powered creations from a while back (snowblower, grille, etc), a really really old hemi powered siren alarm, a huge turn of the century truck, a bunch of the 60s muscle cars (I remember one very nice hemi challenger), a super bird or daytona (in rough shape), just about every concept car from the last 3 decades, one of the turbine cars (and 7 engines to go with it), the last TJ (as well as a couple others), a Nash Rambler, a few old cop cars, and the list could go on and on. I really wish my memory was better than it is. :( Maybe W.F.C. remembers more.

All problems are fixable. Get some door seals from a 97+ XJ. Where exactly are the rattles coming from? What trans and tire size do you have? Do you have a bucket or bench? We're here to help you out, but you need to provide more info. :thumbsup: Find me another truck that's rated for 2000 pounds in the bed (when equipped with the big ton package of course). :D

I like to think that all Jeeps and 4x4s get to go play at least a little. It makes me sad to think that the Thunderchief hasn't had a day of fun in it's life. :( At least the LSR-2 got it's day of glory. :clapping:

What if he's a sand guy? I know people that love the sand, but don't do much else with their trucks (usually for fear of getting the paint scratched :shake: ).

If the truck is rusty underneath, I wouldn't even try to undo the rear bumpstops. I snapped off all bu one bolt. I would recommend just adding something to the axle side (exactly how that's done depends on the situation at hand).

I concur. I don't mind the rim size, but those particular ones make it look like a matchbox truck. :ack:

A few thoughts/questions: I've never had an easy manifold gasket job on any vehicle ever. Please don't hold that against your truck. Why precisely does your truck suck on the highway? It might just need some maintenance. Why would you think that a different 20 year old truck would be better than this particular 20 year old truck? It's 20 years old. Give it the TLC that it's asking for and it'll grow on you. :thumbsup:

Also, I would have taken all my valuables out of it if I had to abandon it for the night.

The original Gameboy FTW! :D Still have it, still works, still like the few games I bought back when I had a broken ankle.. I also have a play station 2 (the grand thefts, socom2 and a couple other things) and the ol' N64 (bunch of stuff for it but if I ever fired it up I'd be playing GoldenEye) Plus I'm borrowing my buddy's 360 while he's out of town for a while. If I'm ever on line, it'll be playing Halo3.

I believe the top one is the tach reset and the bottom is the tach recall. This building is not an accidental group of rare cars that was discovered. They were all brought there for historical preservation. I doubt they would have anything to do with the current financial crisis. There's a ton of history there. And I promise it won't go poof the first time it gets wet, as they washed it for us. :D Over all the truck is very solid. The leaf springs and traction bars were really the only bad spots. But it still could use a bit of attention. Too bad it has to get in line behind cars worth millions. :shake: I'd certainly volunteer to clean it up some afternoon. :yes:
