  1. ahhh, that's a lot of backpressure messing with the system. but glad you figured it out!
  2. pull the carpet, sprinkle some powder around (flour or baby work) and run the hose. :) there are literally dozens of way that water can get in. find that leak before you start throwing money at it.
  3. just because I'm completely unwilling to ride a moped though atlanta rush hour traffic, doesn't mean I'm "forever worried". there's a sliding scale going on here that each person needs to choose for themselves.
  4. that's a very light load so OD should be fine. but I personally would be selective when using it to keep it from shifting back and forth (meaning turning it off for anything slower than freeway speeds).
  5. people mix and match all the time. I've got XJ main leafs (with the eyes cut off) right under my MJ main leaf as a sort of AAL to help control spring wrap. (doesn't really add any lift)
  6. the lift gained will be half of the distance that the shackle bolt moves.
  7. what is it that you want in the end? what's the plan for the truck? what has gone wrong with the current drivetrain?
  8. at the end of the day, they are as safe as most small vehicles in the 80s. which is to say they are safer than most anything made in the 70s and way safer than anything made before that. but a modern car with modern crumple zones and airbags and stiff rollover requirements is just leaps and bounds ahead of the old stuff. which is as it should be. but any car is safer than any motorcycle, so it's all relative and you have to choose what level your happy with.
  9. can you share a pic of the tips of the leafs? are they all the same tapered shape?
  10. correct for the life of me I can't seem to keep all the 94-96 changes straight with their starting years.
  11. based on the interior that seems... unlikely. but I'm also at a loss as to how the 9 got there unless the owner was messing with it.
  12. there's a CC member in the vendors section that is selling replacement clippy thing for the mirrors.
  13. keep it and throw a leather wrap kit on the wheel.
  14. 96s are the best of both worlds
  15. keep us posted on how the spring wrap is. pulling the overload usually increases it a lot. I'm curious as to how that pans out.
  16. any opportunity is a great opportunity to replace the RMS.
  17. did you buy the red one?
  18. new gears or used? careful with used gears, as setting them up can be tricky. what rear axle do you have?
  19. I know. I'm referring to pizzaman's tip for LEDs in the housing. most all on the market are vast downgrades from incandescent.
  20. ebay and BAT are auction sites. it'll find it's own value point.
  21. I get 55" inside edge to inside edge (at the tailgate at least).
  22. this li'l guy. you'll have real-time info about how things are going. https://nickintimedesign.com/product/renix-engine-monitor-ii/
  23. The only way to get an OBD is a wholesale swap. But this can be from a 91-95 so you can keep the old dash. 96 will give obd2. Still a bunch of work but it all bolts in and only costs as much as a used xj. Or just keep the renix and tackle all of cruiser's renix tips. There's nothing inherently wrong with the renix fuel injection. and with the aftermarket dash plugin (whose name escapes me) you can get real-time data on all the sensors.
  24. this is brilliant! I know the day is still young, but you win the internet for today. I love simple solutions to complicated problems.
  25. if it tries to fire, that means the problem is in the fuel delivery. if it doesn't try to fire, that means spark is gone.
