  1. well, if the rubber is truly bad, then I guess don't use it. I used mine though. They cut down the non-rubber end and it worked great. :D
  2. there might be a time limit on deleting your own posts.
  3. The Libby is Dad's. The 97 van is technically not mine, but it's mine to care for. And for all those keeping track, Mom has an '08 Caravan, dad has an 83 Z-28 and I also own half an XJ. All of them but the Libby and 08 van sit still with minimal insurance in order to conserve cash.
  4. either way it'll be fun, but even while you're prepping the frame for welding, always be on the lookout for a decent body with a blown engine or trans. It should be dirt cheap and then you can swap over all the good stuff.
  5. are you asking about deleting all the posts from your temp account?
  6. do you know the brand? there an ID tag anywhere?
  7. I have that "trust" issue with my 97 caravan. It'll die anytime it feels like it. I've read (thank you internet!) that there are a half dozen different potential causes for the exact same symptoms. All I can do is fix them all (starting with the easiest) and maybe the van will behave itself. :dunno: It sucks for sure, 'cause that trust is hard to earn back. :(
  8. I wouldn't go any shorter than stock. that's a compromise for guys lifting their trucks. It shouldn't be, but is. I found a shop near me that shortened my 2wd shaft. But if you had no choice, yeah, you could probably get away with a 3/4" deficit.
  9. sounds like coincidence to me. :dunno: I've failed to get my grandmother's Taurus running for a couple months now (she can't actually drive so it really hasn't been a priority). then, on the day I was pulling the battery charger out of it (she sold the car and I wanted my charger back), I figured what-the-hell and tried to start it. fired right up. :fs1: I hate that car.
  10. 2 strong guys can move it around. But I prefer 4 for ease of maneuvering (it's not like there are any handles on the dang thing).
  11. :waving: Welcome to the insanity.
  12. gonna be tight. reeeeeal tight. So tight as to probably not be worth all the work. :( There will be so much compromising that you might end up hating to drive it. I'd suggest trading the 33s to someone with 31s.
  13. Cinder blocks aren't all that strong on their sides. flip them upright and use a piece of wood on the top to spread out the load. Although it seems your life would be worth $30 in jackstands. :dunno: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/d ... mber=38847
  14. now that's a happy MJ. :D
  15. I hate not having money. :( http://atlanta.craigslist.org/eat/cto/1516526498.html
  16. so.... you want to trim all your fender away so you can make use of some tires? Are the fenders particularly rotted? 33x10s or 33x12s?
  17. So the shifter handle won't pull back to 4wd? any rust under the truck in that area? Also, welcome to the club! :waving:
  18. tell him that it's been altered and that destroys the value. offer him $2k. :D
  19. lifted jeep nice - $4500 (jackson) http://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/cto/1508684410.html
  20. most of the ones I've seen have 2 pairs of holes so you can tweak it. search for "chevy shackles" in Tech and you should be able to find the recent topics.
  21. yup. full size truck usually have a bigger bolt pattern (6-on-5.5, 5-on-5.5 etc). Essentially, if you're stepping up to fullsize truck axles, your bolt pattern will become whatever that particular truck used.
  22. I usually put 30-40 in mine. no need to get all crazy with it just to wash off mud. but then I've never cleaned out a heater core with it.
