  1. simply cut off the XJ perches and weld some on in the proper MJ location. MJ perches are closer together than XJ stuff, so you can't just bolt it up.
  2. are the sandbags situated right above of in front of the rear axle?
  3. X2 I paid a visit over to the Yahoo board the other night.....haven't been there in a couple of years.....wow Pete, yer a good guy for keeping that site going, but seriously....WTH is with those who still cling to that place?!?!?!? Jeff :dunno:
  4. yours is downright complex compared to mine. I didn't even cap the ends. :D
  5. My bushings are toast too. :( But I'll keep ya in mind
  6. Wade says he used the ones meant for the 88-06 chevys. I have a feeling that there's no real difference between the years, but I'd play it safe and get those since they're proven to work.
  7. I'm installing the rust free leafs I got from GA in my '90, but wasn't able to salvage the shackles with them. :( The old rusty shackles are trashed. Hoping to find someone that pulled their stockers for aftermarket. willing to trade for comanche club swag. :clapping:
  8. yup, wrangler hoses are longer than MJ/XJ fronts. Several hoses are longer for the rear. I used a 95 Dakota line
  9. It's free software, what can ya do. :dunno: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2059 viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18171 viewtopic.php?f=2&t=54 (so old that a lot of the photos don't load. :( ) How I found them was I searched for "bumper bumpers", search for any term, in topic titles only, then had them listed by topic title (rather than by individual threads).
  10. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19787&p=203444&hilit=ebay+chevy+shackles#p203444 also, there are a pair of 1 7/8" spacers in the for sale forum: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=20221 and a pair of used chevy shackles on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... %26ps%3D63
  11. Is your shop insulated? if not, that'd be step one. my garage isn't and the propane heater can really struggle. :(
  12. A/C delete kit? There are vacuum testers out there (try searching at harborfreight.com) check the condition of the vacuum canister. should be up behind the front bumper on the pass side. The lines going to it seem to fail early. Also check your front axle lines if 4wd. how well does your truck idle?
  13. I don't have a locker up front (yet). I have a spool. it never ever unlocks and so my steering easily binds up on tight twisty trails. A front locker should unlock when you take the power away (meaning it's in 2wd).
  14. steering? what is this "steering" of which you speak? :D Seriously though, it sucks. I've got a locker to go in there should I ever get those dang tiny ford hub bolts out. At least with a locker it'll disengage when I shift into 2wd so I can cut those sharp turns on the trail.
  15. So do I. :D
  16. looks good! except for that seat. might want to upgrade that. :D
  17. should be a couple threads on that by now. Not sure if the search engine will work with you or against you though. piece of crap that it is and all. :fs1:
  18. pulling that sensor is the way to bleed out the last bits of air. try to get the rear of the truck higher than the front, then slowly unscrew the sensor and start up the truck. You don't have to completely remove it, just unscrew enough for the air to bleed out. Be sure to wear good eye protection, have a rag over the sensor in case to pops free, and have someone else start the truck so that they can kill it if anything goes wrong.
  19. check the projects forum. should be a couple of them in there. shelbyluvv's comes to mind (and he's got a ton of pics)
  20. might it be possible to make out of hardware store items?
  21. look to ebay. earlier I found spacers and Chevy shackles separately for half that. (make sure that the shackles will actually lift an MJ. XJs have shorter stock shackles than MJs)
  22. I believe Eagle was trying to help. I've never known him to not try to help. That's why he's here after all. That's why we're all here. I guess there's no way to know whether or not the OP has contemplated a toggle yet (through a relay of course). :dunno: Instead of ripping on Eagle, you could have simply answered the guy's question. Eagle's opinion is to run a toggle. duly noted. now what's your input? I did a quick internet search for that sensor and it would appear that it would turn on, and stay on forever. At least on my trucks it would. None of them run cooler than 220, let alone 200 and that sensor shuts off at 195. Sounds like he might as well just hard wire it in. :hmm: Actually, I do have something productive to add to all this. I don't have a clue where it came from, but a previous owner of my 88 install the fan temp sensor in a pipe in the middle of the lower rad hose. i.e. the hose was cut and the tube was inserted and the tube had a bung in it. I'll see if I have a photo showing it
  23. nah, you've given more than your share. Unless ya wanna give me about 500. there's another Georgia MJ I wanna rescue. :D
  24. It's free to some.
  25. Darren, you're in Mexico? :D
