  1. It'll require some customization for sure, but I don't remember if anyone actually measured to see if the bigger tank would hit the axle.
  2. I guess. I'd still use DOM for the main hoops and hrew for the straight pieces.
  3. are there any threaded holes in those little brackets?
  4. better ask the guys to be sure.
  5. and some of us are just partial to the look of a stock MJ on big ol' 31s. :D
  6. That's more typical of the newer vehicles. Our old Jeeps use a old style Chevy alt that is wicked common and so is pretty cheap. Also, I'd go for the 100 amp version if possible. :brows:
  7. If you want something that will save your neck, you might want to focus on getting materials that will actually save your neck. OEM stuff is not really know for that. DOM is where it's at.
  8. Nah, that would have cost money for a new driveshaft. This here's a budget build.
  9. I found a quarter on the sidewalk yesterday.
  10. With all the CFC Jeeps in the yards, I would not have thought it would be all that difficult. :dunno:
  11. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19787&p=203444&hilit=ebay+chevy+shackles#p203444
  12. WJs have a different bolt pattern.
  13. well, if the rubber is truly bad, then I guess don't use it. I used mine though. They cut down the non-rubber end and it worked great. :D
  14. there might be a time limit on deleting your own posts.
  15. The Libby is Dad's. The 97 van is technically not mine, but it's mine to care for. And for all those keeping track, Mom has an '08 Caravan, dad has an 83 Z-28 and I also own half an XJ. All of them but the Libby and 08 van sit still with minimal insurance in order to conserve cash.
  16. either way it'll be fun, but even while you're prepping the frame for welding, always be on the lookout for a decent body with a blown engine or trans. It should be dirt cheap and then you can swap over all the good stuff.
  17. are you asking about deleting all the posts from your temp account?
  18. do you know the brand? there an ID tag anywhere?
  19. I have that "trust" issue with my 97 caravan. It'll die anytime it feels like it. I've read (thank you internet!) that there are a half dozen different potential causes for the exact same symptoms. All I can do is fix them all (starting with the easiest) and maybe the van will behave itself. :dunno: It sucks for sure, 'cause that trust is hard to earn back. :(
  20. I wouldn't go any shorter than stock. that's a compromise for guys lifting their trucks. It shouldn't be, but is. I found a shop near me that shortened my 2wd shaft. But if you had no choice, yeah, you could probably get away with a 3/4" deficit.
  21. sounds like coincidence to me. :dunno: I've failed to get my grandmother's Taurus running for a couple months now (she can't actually drive so it really hasn't been a priority). then, on the day I was pulling the battery charger out of it (she sold the car and I wanted my charger back), I figured what-the-hell and tried to start it. fired right up. :fs1: I hate that car.
  22. 2 strong guys can move it around. But I prefer 4 for ease of maneuvering (it's not like there are any handles on the dang thing).
