  1. What engine did the truck have originally?
  2. Not out of that thing. I would just enjoy it as is. Last time I checked there was only one place to get the parts for the engine from in Ohio. And, on top of that, everything had to be shipped in from France. And all we were trying to get was an alternator. Ended up having to rebuild the stock one, and wait for the brushes from France. :ack: If I had it, it would be hermetically sealed, and only come out on 70+ degree days. Did you know you have to remove a motor mount to replace the starter on that thing? Rob L. :fs1: meh. ever changed the starter on a 4.6L car? :wall:

    Chickens V2:

what are you doing this time to better protect them from coons?
  4. I'm assuming that this means it's the appropriate trackbar bracket. :dunno:

what's the temperament of that peacock?
  6. oh, and the clips won't let you use the same bolt, but they're attached to the lower leaf so they still function ok.
  7. center pins should never be reused. buy grade 8 or better bolts.
  8. Saw them on a Ford Ranger...guy said he did alot of towing (utility, toys, etc). I'll be doing the same. :dunno: HellCreek offers both an AAL made from an MJ main leaf (adds some capacity and raises it up an inch), and also an AAL that brings the payload capacity up to Big Ton numbers.
  9. been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. 2wd packs with MJ mains added as AALs:
  10. thanks for the reminder. I've been meaning to change that auto censor.
  11. it's a pickup. the sky's the limit. :D (or low bridges as the case may be)
  12. No photos guys? :fool: Back in '97 I needed a DD and was torn between a truck and a Jeep. Then I learned that Jeep made a truck. :clapping: Sweet. But i couldn't find an MJ in my area in my price range that had everything I wanted. So I compromised and started looking for 2wds with the required 4.0/stick/AC. Found one in the classifieds needing some TLC, took it for a spin around the block and fell in love. With all the memory problems I have, I still remember that very first drive like it was yesterday. No wait, I don't remember much of yesterday. guess I remember it better than yesterday. :D Here she is a few months later after some thorough customizing:
  13. Heck, take photos as you go and make a DIY write-up out of it. :D
  14. Hellcreek makes a couple full length AALs.
  15. I believe at least one member is running them (has a camper shell) and another member bought his truck with them on (but then removed them I think) What are you looking to accomplish with the aftermarket overload?
  16. too bad that's a Dakota taillight. But I guess it wouldn't be all that hard to paint trim on an MJ housing.
  17. why not less lift? :dunno: I never seem to get the general obsession with going SOA. :hmm:
  18. both ideally.

    PS3 Theme

no, we have the opposite, a PS3 based theme for the forum colors here.
  20. well alllllrighty then. that sucks. :( Back to someone stopping by with a sawsall and snagging me the entire drivers side of the truck. any volunteers? I'd love to at least preserve the paint for posterity (and an awesome wall decor).
  21. It's true that other trucks have a wider front axle than rear. they say it helps in handling. makes it look even worse looking when you swap a ford 44 and 9" under your MJ. :(
  22. when I said "roof", I meant the pillars too. They are most certainly toast. I realize I'm looking at a single grainy photo, but in my head it should be relatively easy to slice at the base of the pillars, splice in a new roof structure and new glass (and maybe add some rollbar protection into the mix) and then fix some dents and bends in the body. "Should" be pretty straightforward and won't cost all that much in money or time. Later on, when one of us wins the lotto, we can expand on it. :D
  23. I was thinking more along the lines of trying to retain as much as possible at first. replace the roof and try to repair what's there. there's a lot of custom stuff on that body. :( I think we need a ton more photos of the damage. :D
  24. yup. MJs just have a big butt. :D
  25. maybe if you put "carfax" in the title. :dunno: only a handful can help out with that. maybe they haven't check in yet.
