  1. anyone that wants to can send the original to that address. just be sure to include your screen name so I don't accidentally wrongly assume who is who and upload the photo to the a different guy.
  2. can't say for sure, but wrangler leafs are fairly flat. maybe not as flat as an XJ, but certain have less arch than an MJ. As I found out with my experimenting, that third leaf is crucial for holding up an MJ. pulling it makes the leafpack flatten out quite a bit. :( I still say the original poster just needs to find a better junkyard. that one is a ripoff. http://www.jmw4x4.com/inventory/retail.htm seems to have a few sets.
  3. the Jeep 2.8 is externally balanced. The Camaro 3.4L is internally balanced. does anyone know for sure which the 2.8 camaro is?
  4. could be a bit better quality though. if you send the original to comancheclub@hotmail.com , I can clean that up for ya.
  5. there's a code on the door. there are others (I know for a fact that open 4.10s exist) but these are the ones listed in the chart I just found. 41 Open 3.27 43 Open 3.08 44 Open 3.73 45 Open 3.55 D1 L/S 3.27 D2 L/S 4.10 D4 L/S 3.73
  6. check the sockets for corrosion.
  7. the WJ booster is capable of much more pressure than the old single booster, but that doesn't mean you'll be using that extra pressure all the time. your brake pads won't notice any difference day to day. but when you do need that extra oomph to yank on the reins, whoa momma, it's there. :D but I would exhaust all other possibilities first. likely won't make a lick of difference if something else is broken.
  8. I think for some years the lights below the headlights were just turn indicators.
  9. guess that would be a bit of an issue. :D
  10. d'oh! my bad. you are correct. had to run out to the truck to pear underneath the dash. I was thinking of the gas pedal pivot. the brake pivot is above the booster rod.
  11. 3rd member is in! gotta let the silicone cure. tomorrow I should be able to button it all back up, throw in some gear oil and see if I need to start all over.

    were they Dos Equis? :rotf:
  13. the arrow points to leaf #3 (the bottom thin one).

  15. a more serious issue is if the floor is so rotted away that the linkage can't get enough leverage to shift the t-case. :(
  16. any change in height will knock the front alignment out of whack.
  17. car DASH part.com those aren't replacements for your broken leaf. In fact, you're likely to break other leafs if you install those in place of the #3 leaf in your pack. they won't properly support the #2 leaf.
  18. the dash really isn't that big of a deal. you just need to gut the truck and swap over everything one bit at a time. several guys here have done it and I'm sure they'd love to help you along. if it hasn't cracked yet, it's probably fine. also, tech Qs should really go in the tech forum so more guys will see it and the answers will show up in the searchable database.
  19. if you add it in, it pulls the booster arm towards the front of the truck and that in turn pulls the pedal up off the floor.
  20. pay no attention to the front of my truck :D (unless you wanna try to adapt the ford radius arm suspension) everything up there is custom. f-150 coils are too stiff. mine are aftermarket MJ/XJ coils. 150 bucks is stealing. did you try car-part.com ?
  21. it's really not that bad. I'm running 2wd leafs on my 88. 4wd leafs in good shape can net closer to 6" of lift depending. you can make up any loss of lift by cutting the eyes off your current main leafs and inserting them right under the new mains. (also helps combat spring wrap) If the 2wd leafs are in good shape, I'd go for it.
  22. there's a huge difference between stupidity and plain ol' ignorance. at least now you know (and you didn't spend hundreds on brand new gears and bearings (which could easily be ruined by now).
  23. did you swap in the aluminum spacer that goes with the booster?
  24. nice photos :D I'll be linking to this thread when people ask what it takes to put a 4.0 in their 86.
  25. is there something wrong with the current 4.0?
