just picked up a cap and rotor for the TJ at Advance Auto yesterday....shocked when I saw "made in USA" on them (GP Sorenson) :USAflag: Jeff

I did mine in about 2 hours total a few months ago, working by myself. The driverside is the more difficult one of the two (at least on my 2.5L it was). Helps to have another set of hands to raise/lower the engine in tiny bits so that you can get the mount bolt thru both sides of the mount. BTW, the oil filter was in the way on the passenger side and had to come off to get the bolt the whole way out. Plan on an oil change while yer at it... Jeff

nah, the coil's probably fine, but you'd be surprised at just how much noise that little retainer can make. I've got a set of extended swaybar disco's on the way to me in the mail....once they get here in a couple of days, I'm redoing the whole frontend with 5.5" coils and RE adjustable uppers to get my caster corrected and front DS back in. Probably won't be until next weekend tho, since I'm on call for work from now 'till Wednesday (yeah, happy New Year's to me :cry: )

I know you say it's brake related, but check the little coil retainer tab.....they're notorious for stripping the threads out of the coil mount and that little piece of metal vibrates around alot. Betcha that's what's making yer noise. Jeff

first off, with an unknown maintenence history I'd consider an alignment, or a thorough going-over of the front end. Once all is in check, you can recenter your steering wheel via the adjusting collar on the drag link. Looking under the front end at the bottom of the steering box, there is a pittman arm attached to it that connects to the drag link. At the upper end of it, there is a clamshell sleeve secured by two bolts/nuts. Loosen the two nuts, then spin the sleeve to lengthen or shorten the DL which in turn repositions the steering wheel....spinning it clockwise (if you are looking from the driverside) will rotate the steering wheel shaft anti-clockwise, and visa-versa. I made my own out of a compression tester hose and spark plug hole adapter fitting that came with it. Attach the fitting to a piece of air hose (I used a double barbed fitting and a couple hose clamps), set your air compressor to about 120 psi and use the pressure gauge on the compressor to watch for pressure loss. Kinda hack, but it works all the same. I used it to troubleshoot a 0 compression cylinder on a Ford Escort I had....ended up being the intake valve seat went bad on #4. As the pressure dropped, you could hear it hissing out of the intake manifold :cry: Jeff

yeah, just push it into the center of the fitting while pumping. Use a rigid line on the output of the gun, not a flexible one or else you're gonna need three hands ;) The gun will be hard to squeeze, but it will flow grease thru the needle tip, trust me. Another alternative, if you don't want to buy the needle fitting (but it is a good tool to keep in the box), is unscrew the flat fitting and insert a nipple fitting and use the regular tip on the grease gun. When the joint is packed, swap the flat fitting back in. Jeff
