Thanks. 10 years, I've been cursing at myself every time I had to get the generator out/in. We actually took a few days to go visit her aging aunt and uncle (he'll be 85 this year) up in Philly, and he begrudgingly asked me to help him repair his shed ramp. I ended up tearing it completely apart and rebuilt it for him. That gave me the inspiration to finally build mine when we got back home. I did mine a bit differently than his, but its pretty darn nice to walk down the yard and right into the shed now instead of hopping up a foot or so. I'll stain/seal it later on this summer and landscape around it so it'll be easier to cut around. I have 2 azelas I just bought for Easter in pots now, I'll drop them in the ground on either side this fall.

I notched out the ends of a couple of the boards to clearance the lag bolts I used to hang the aluminum L channel piece serving as a ledger board (so they were all even). I cut a piece of aluminum strapping to cover all the boards and siliconed it down. I didn't measure the whole width, I just cut all the boards and laid them down and they ended up being 3/4" too short of a full board, so I ripped another board with my circular saw (buddy had a table saw but I didn't want to bother him) to 4-3/4" and slid it right in the center. Fit like a glove. You really have to look hard to see the narrower one, especially if you don't know it's there.

I took last week off for vacation. Among other things, I built a ramp for the shed in the back yard. I may be good at alot of things, but woodworking isn't one of them. I actually impressed myself with this one. Now I can wheel the portable generator and snow blower in/out without having to drop them down a foot (and on my foot, lol).

Thanks for the intel. Fast passes I can live without, we really don't ride many rides, and I've ridden the ones I've wanted to already. But, can you still get park hopper passes? I'll be pretty upset if not. We're going down to FL in July to visit our friends north of JAX, driving again, and then flying back down in August for Disney and staying on property. Our friends are planning to drive down and spend a couple days with us at Disney, they've never been before, and we want to be able to get them to all the different parks they want to go to (hence the park hopper need).

Might as well toss USPS into the mix too, while we're all ranting. I sent a small (like 6"x6"x4") box to a buddy in FL through them. It took them almost a month to deliver it. But, just last week I ordered a new holster for my CC from a business in Jacksonville, which is only 25 miles south of where my buddy lives, and I had it in 24 hours, with free shipping from the seller. Go figure.

The FREE spot on your bingo card should be the ubiquitous busload of nuns that everyone claims are out there on the road, lol. I've never seen a single one.

Kinda like a termite chewing on a redwood......but I agree. You use what you got to get the job done. Kudos to everyone involved (except the Captain)

mjeff87 replied to 92Voiture's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Advance Adapters. Its labeled as a TJ line, comes in 2 sizes. Get the longer one (60" IIRC). Done and done. -
You literally cannot make this up.

They now have it partially refloated. Used seven tugs to pull it off the shore. The ship is 1/4 mile long and about 200 feet wide. Big ship.

Swapping slave cylinder u-clips for cotter pins
mjeff87 replied to jeepmjga's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That would be me. OP, do yourself a huge favor and toss those cheezy u-clips. Replace them with cotter pins before you put the new unit back in.- 10 replies

When I swapped the 4.0 into my MJ to replace the 2.5, I got everything buttoned up on the engine/harness/coolant/oil/etc. for a test fire. Jumped in and hit the key to prime the fuel system before cranking and wondered just what the heck was spewing liquid all over underneath the open hood. Cut the key back off and jumped out to check. Gasoline goes everywhere but into the injectors when you leave the fuel line disconnected at the rail. Who knew? That one could have been dangerous. I was working out of one of them "u-rent-em" storage garages at the time. Gas went everywhere. Side note, they no longer allow anyone to store or work on vehicles in them anymore. I was far from the only guy doing it at the time. Guess too much liability for them from hacktards like me. Lol.

I made corned beef a couple weekends ago. My wife hates it, so I only make it when I'm hungry for it, lol. I made "Irish stew" last night (no pics), but it was beef not lamb. Again, my wife hates lamb, so......happy wife, happy life. I did have 3 shots of Irish whisky too. I did pull off a lasagne on Tuesday, along with a gallon or so of giardiniera (pickled vegetables). I had a whole $6 wrapped up into that, $3 of which was for the head of cauliflower.

My brother had a 4.7 in a Dakota with a 5 speed. In that configuration it was a rocket. It did develop a very hard starting issue (like a 30 second crank time) but he ended up trading it on a Ford before I could get to look at it, so I don't know what that was all about. I run the baby brother 3.7 in my KJ. While it's never given me a problem (that I didn't cause), it's just waaayyy too complicated an engine for what it is (I'm looking at you, timing chain system.......). Like Mesa says, both engines have aluminum heads, and overheating either one of them even the slightest bit is a death toll. I'm completely OCD about watching the temp "gauge" every time I drive it, and no vehicle/engine should ever cause anyone to have to worry so much about it.

I drove the European variant of that thing over in Ireland on our honeymoon 27+ years ago. With the 200 octane gas there back then (and it was like $1 USD per gallon) that thing was a riot. I've not had that much fun with a vehicle in a LONG time.

I'm sensing a theme with your posts. And I like it. Alot.

I was trying to figure out what the title of the post meant before clicking. Pictures definitely delivered That is awesome OP.

Found a TSB floating around that may or may not be applicable to you...... https://www.wjjeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wj_0801605.pdf Basically, it could be a TCM failure, or if the line pressures aren't within range, you can try replacing the input and output speed sensors. One or both of them may have gone bye bye. Hopefully whatever yours is is something cheap and easy.

I had to lol when I checked the forum this morning and saw my ancient thread had been bumped. It might just be a coincidence but there's a similar thread going on now over on garage journal and I posted to it a couple days ago. I cross posted my original thread there also when I made it here and made a reference to it in the new thread. A day later, my thread here gets bumped by a bot. Who says we aren't being tracked.....
