  1. The WHS-002 Spidertrax 1.25" spacers finally arrived and I slapped them on. Excellent product. They are hubcentric and fit perfectly. They even come with Locktite. I was a bit concerned about the spacer stud length because I had to install longer studs in my axels before to make up for the rear disk brake backing plate thickness, but the spacer studs are actually 1/4" longer and gave me twice the lug nut engagement that I had before. My rear wheels are now moved out almost the same in the flare as the front; would have 1.50" spacers to make it perfect, but these will do. Will take some pics tomorrow if it ever stops raining here. Many thanks to SW2 for his assistance.
  2. Buckets for sure, especially the ones with the big side bolsters from a 2-door XJ. Below is what I did to cover the shifter hole since I have a column shift. It's a stainless soap dish. Good place to store cigarettes. :D
  3. Thanks CE - I never knew Lincoln made a truck. Guess you can tell I don't pay much attention to Ford products. :D
  4. A more common failure than the stalk is the intermittent wiper module located at the bottom of the steering column inline with the column harness wires. Unplug the module on both ends, plug the harness connectors together, then see if the wipers operate normally (the delay function of course will be gone). If they do you'll need another module.
  5. Okay, then the axle ratio codes are wrong on the link I posted above. Code "C" (4.10 open) is for a wide track axel. Motion, could you measure the axel length when you get a chance?
  6. So you have the wide track version?
  7. Is the stamped code readable? http://www.jeeptech.com/axle/amc20.html
  8. I have a new lined cover I purchased custom made for an MJ longbed w. full camper shell. I have never used it except for a test fit. It fits rather loosely and may cover your camper, but not all the way to the ground. Like to see someone get some use out of it.
  9. "I purchased this Comanche from a large dealership in Alabama. It was traded in by the original owner for a brand new truck." I'm quite familiar with this Huntsville Lincoln - Mercury dealer and they don't sell new trucks, unless he's referring to a Navigator or Mariner or something. And I thought I'd seen all the MJs around the local AO. Missed this one. :D But can't blame a guy for trying to get the most he can if some mullet is willing to pay............

Scumbag......... You're getting too smart Pete...........
  11. I had a 36 Ford 5-window coupe w. a 327 V8 Chevy engine awhile back that was my daily driver. I had humongeous problems with clogged fuel filters; couldn't drive 200 miles w/o changing them out (inline and in-carb). The crud in the filters was reddish mud looking crap. Flushed the tank a couple of times and it would help for a little while, but the crud always returned. Turned out my gas tank was rusting internally, maybe bad gas, maybe condensation, and the red crud was iron oxide. So I got a large round 5" speaker magnet and placed it on the outside of the tank near the fuel pickup point. Never had any more problems and never had to replace the tank. I still use magnets on my MJ tank. Don't know if this is your issue, but I would give it a try.

  13. That's a super fine looking Chief. Oh, and don't mind Geonovast's post above. He does this  whenever he sees an MJ that looks better than his junk. Which is every one he sees.

    Scumbags....

No comments, I just wanted to break up the two Scumbag threads.
  15. Look great! But now you have to lose the non-chrome mirrors. :D Image Not Found
  16. Above link no workee. Corrected: http://www.wagoneers.com/XJ/tech/4.0L-CPS/CPS-87-90-update.pdf
  17. Ah, yes. Some pre-90s XJ Laredos/Limiteds had them, as well as the XJ Waggys. They also had chrome mirrors, window trim, grille, and bumpers. http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoDoorHandles.htm
  18. Comanche-specific mudflaps do exist and can be had occasionally on Ebay. I just sold two NOS pairs last month on Ebay. :brows: XJ flaps can be used for the fronts, but the rears are a lot different. Here's some pics: Image Not Found Image Not Found
  19. Maybe. This crap happens every year in college football. I want a playoff system like NCAA basketball has, after the all the damn bowl games so the universities can make their $$, because you can't kill the political bowl games. And the BCS system just doesn't eliminate all the variables. Teams from the smaller conferences just don't have a chance to be national champs. Oh well, prolly never happen anytime soon. Sigh.....
  20. I concede. Utah beat the crap out of us. Hell of a defensive effort by the undefeated Utes. This game kind of reminds me of Boise State's 43-42 great overtime win over Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl. But this hurts. Utah deserves the national championship no matter what happens in the BCS later.
  21. No worries Wade, it's 28-17 now. The Utes shot their wad in the 1st quarter and the bigger 'Bama boys will wear them down and prevail. Damn, Utah's a WHOLE lot better than I expected though, but their quickness ain't gonna last.........
  22. Valve cover bolts are not metric; they are 1/4" x 20 UNC.
  23. :agree: Thanks for posting this pot values Eagle.
  24. Yeah, that's the last post I saw telling us he got a job. Just wondering if anyone had heard from him.
