  1. I've seen several attempts for round headlamps on MJ/XJs, but that look has never worked for me. Kudos for the quality build on this XJ and for thinking out of the box, but I prefer the box headlamps on our box vehicles. Chrome mirrors look nice though.
  2. I've redone many brake lines and never had problems removing brake line fittings by using the correct Metric or SAE flare nut wrenches. They fit very tight. Sometimes it takes a couple of days after a good douche w. PB Blaster then using the flare nut wrench w. a small hammer and tap-tap-tap until it frees up. But if the nut is already rounded off, it's vicegrip time..........
  3. ^^^^ Me too.
  4. I kinda like chrome a little bit. :D But I have to say the 21-slot is way over the top. The 10-slot looks okay, but still too busy. I like the 8-slot IF the chrome is blackened out of the slots; makes for a good balance IMO. In fact that's what I did to mine recently.

    My XJ is dead

:agree: Yes, all that matters is that your wife is okay. That had to be scary for her being trapped in there with the top folded down like that. She must be one tough lady.
  7. Did you open up the hood vents? Maybe I missed it. :dunno:
  8. Great new service to economically communicate with your incarcerated family members and/or loved ones in prison. Just thought I'd pass this on as a special CC Club Community Service for some of our members. :D http://www.prisonerconnect.com/
  9. Yep, excellent translation. cz777, if English is a 2nd language for you maybe Drahcir495 can continue to translate, but if not, I doubt even he has the patience for it. Would be better for you if you cleaned it up yourself.
  10. I did retain the drip pans when I installed the 5.9 vents - probably the major reason they didn't work too well, i.e. RESTRICTION MAXIMUS. :(
  11. I don't know if it's picture shadows or what, but those vents look like they will not allow much air flow due to the small overall hole size, especially the passenger side vent. Don't think they will do much good for you unless you can open them up with a Dremel or something. The reason I say this is because I tried some 98 ZJ hood vents w. bigger flow holes, and they really didn't help much, especially at crawling slow speeds in hot weather. Went to the cowl hood and that really did all I expected of it.
  12. Been using Dri-Slide on my motorcycle cables for years and tried it on the hood cable. It has a needle applicator that you can insert into the cable sheath and squirt it in until it flows out the other end. It's nice as it does not gum up. Can pull the hood release cable with two fingers now. Good stuff.
  13. You're a sick man Jim. Take it easy on the whippersnappers. :rotf:
  14. Ya, true. If it doesn't fit into a flat rate box, can be expensive. :(
  15. Scan through the below article so you can get the correct clock to fit the connector in the dash. Yes, it's in there. http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoDashClock.htm
  16. Errr, last I heard HI's a state and part of the US of A. Doesn't cost anymore to ship there than to Rhode Island via USPS Priority mail.

    Random pics:

Remarkable how much it looks like Canberra except there are no asses there (4-legged kind anyhow), but lots of roos. Used to go there twice a year to eval their telecomms.

    Random pics:

The first pics are of a deep space tracking station. The only one I've been to is Canberra in Oz, but that's not it. So it must be Goldstone in the Mojave, Cali. with the wild asses running around.
  19. They don't all leak. Had my 91 since 02 and neither vent window has ever leaked. :dunno: EDIT: I just looked up the part numbers for the vent window assemblies - they changed in 1991. So they must have done something right. 55015736-7, 1987-89 55024294-5, 1990 55028138-9, 1991-92

  21. First post. Might help if we knew what what MJ model you are referring to. :shake:
  22. Tip: If your LCA bushings are shot, chances are good the UCA bushings are too. You should do them all at once if you can. Makes a world of difference. Unfortunately the UCA front bushings are pressed into the axle brackets, and there isn't much room to whack them out. You can burn them out, or build a $5 press from threaded rod and some plumbing fittings. But they should all be replaced, uppers and lowers.
  23. Another small one touched down this afternoon and dropped tree on one of our damn power company substations knocking out power for about five hours. What sane power company would have giant trees growing within 500' of a major substation in a tornado prone area? This is getting tiresome.... Freaking morons........ :fs1:
  24. I used a Ford clevis for my D44 w. Exploder disks, pic below. Also installed new ebrake cables and had plenty of length w. my 3" lift. They would even work well if they were 3" shorter. I think the stock cables will be long enough for you.
  25. And which Marshall Island were you working on Jim? I was there for 5+ years based out of Kwaj and been to them all. Many times. Don't remember anywhere throughout the atoll with a population like that. Fishing? Yes, nothing is more fun than dropping a bass purple worm down in the reef and catching a 30+ lb. lapu-lapu.
