    Super Bowl

Total Denver team choke and melt down; defense, special teams, and offense, especially Payton. Still dink passing for ten yards at a time down 36-0. This is nauseating now.

  4. PM sent.
  5. Bookmarked. Thanks.
  6. Excellent! Here's to the Seahawk defense doing the same thing to Manning and his boys. Feel bad for the Ford Bronco though.
  7. When I was calibrating Jeep cluster gauges a few years ago, I tried several times to reset the 91 and up odometers and was never able to due to the tamper-proof cage surrounding them. I've never seen a writeup here or anywhere else on anyone doing this successfully except for speedo shops. It's doable but I wasn't smart enough to figure it out. http://comancheclub.com/topic/12849-changing-odometer/?hl=odometer&do=findComment&comment=126922
  8. I like the chrome better.
  9. ^^ That's the upper bearing, but from the looks of that steering column you will need more than the bearing. But give it a go. If it's beyond repair, a column shifter replacement will be hard to find; they are rare. If I were you, I'd find an 86-96 XJ w. auto at the yard and pull the column and the floor shifter and swap them into your MJ. It's a bolt-in job.
  10. P/n J8127850, UPPER BEARING ASSEMBLY COLUMN SHIFT, W. TILT http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Brakes-and-Steering/Steering-Column-Upper-Bearing-Assembly.aspx?t_c=65&t_s=510&t_pt=8295&t_pn=CROJ8127850
  11. Yes, still available, $80 and up new, p/n 56006957. Grab one at the yard and hope it works. Plenty of used on Ebay too. I have a few, used but tested and okay, send PM if you are interested.

  13. Pics courtesy of Gjeep. The lights are NOT KC's.
  14. Looks like it's part number J3239821, 100mm. Try searching for a better price. If this one is correct, it's pretty easy to change the bearing in it. Let me know; I've got the p/n for the bearing somewhere. http://www.carid.com/1987-jeep-wrangler-suspension-systems/crown-suspension-systems-16682199.html
  15. What Ben said: Force-fed. Great way to describe stuffing the 4.0 into an 86 MJ, something the factory never did. But you did, made it look good, and built a very unique MJ you should be proud of. Great job, and it's only going to get better. Congrats on MJOTM.
  16. Did not say you were stupid. Obviously you are not. But ditching your sway bar and driving out on the road with all the idiots out there is a stupid idea. I'll stick to that mate. Maybe in the desert it's okay. I wouldn't know.
  17. I'm going to pickup a used rear bar from the yard from an S10 or Blazer for cheap. The dimensions are very close to the ADDCO bar, it mounts the same way, and it's a little beefier. Then fab end link mounts for the frame, either welded or double bolt mounted. I think i will be a better stronger setup. My problem will be real estate. With dual exhausts and a big old spare under there, it's scarce. But per calibrated eyeball it looks like it will fit.
  18. Yeah, I knew someone would say that. :rotfl2: To all the engineering types, does this look like a good design to you?
  19. I haven't seen him in a couple of years - hope he's still around.
  20. Here's a drawing from the ADDCO installation manual. It uses the upper shock mounts to mount the end links using an "L" bracket. Not a good design IMHO. Unfortunately it will not work on a longbed because the upper shock mounts are in front of the axle. I'm thinking of getting one anyhow and making my own mounts on the frame for the end links. It would be better than this setup. A friend of mine had one on his MJ and said the end link "L" brackets were constantly twisting and loosening up.
  21. It doesn't say. It only says driving lights. Sorry........... I know a guy about 100 years old who used to work for an old local Jeep dealer for many years. He's the guy who installed all the dealer installed options, like the sport bars, sun roofs, tool box, winches, fire extinguisher, etc. etc. There was even a front end bra available. Maybe he remembers; will try to contact him next week.
  22. Maybe I worded it incorrectly above. The sports bar and driving lights (as well as others like the sunroof) were NOT factory installed options, they were dealer installed options. See, I can uses CAPS too. Believe it or not.
  23. I got some of these and installed two as marker lamps up front. They work great, are brighter than the more expensive ones, and the price as you said is great. Made in China with Mandarin writing all over the package. Let's see now how long they last. Thanks for the tip.
  24. I also run the ADDCO front bar, but the MJ rear ADDCO bar (#468) will not work on a long bed due to the different location of the upper shock mounts on the frame. The upper shocks on the LWB MJs mount in front of the axle, not behind it as the SWB do.
  25. A better MJ rear sway bar option I think is a rear sway from an S10 or Blazer. The length is correct but the end links and frame mounts would have to be fabbed. One of these days I'll pick one up at the yard. Image Not Found
