That sounds correct. Probably what's called the "Super D44", si?
All the 90s Isuzu Rodeo D44s I've seen have the common 10-bolt cover. I looked at a lot of them when I was searching for an MJ D44.
I have seen that fuel gauge / CPS interaction writeup before, but it wasn't the case with me. Also I did the ohms test and it read okay. There's no real way we can test the CPS like there is on the Renix. My distributor sync sensor went out about the same time now that I think back when I had the random starting / cutout problem, and I just swapped the 91 distributor with one from a 96. Didn't you recently replace your distributor? Or is my memory corroded? :hmm:
Try unplugging the replugging the CPS 3-pin connector at the back of the engine. I had this similar intermittent problem on my 91 and that usually fixed it temporarily. The permanent fix was a new Mopar CPS. Does your truck ever cut off when underway? Mine was doing that too.
Try swapping the flashers. http://comancheclub.com/topic/41600-front-turn-signals-don't-work/?hl=flasher&do=findComment&comment=421230
Use a test light or multimeter to check for power at the fan connector.
The 91's were the first MJ/XJ models with the single key. One key for doors, ignition, glove box, etc.
Gog, I don't understand what you are saying above. Please explain?
EDIT: Never mind. I re-read what you said - double-sided keys.
Only thing I can think of is the brake light switch. Just use the 97 switch on the 97 pedal assembly and rewire the stop lights to a normally open (NO) set of contacts on the switch. There should be three sets of contacts on the switch; two NO contacts (brake lights and cruise control), and one set of NC contacts (torque converter). Either set of NO contacts will work of course, just ohm them out first if you don't have a wiring diagram.
Your high idle is most likely being caused by a vacuum leak (cracked and/or unconnected vacuum line). So, if you fixed the high idle by correcting the vacuum leak, it would run okay and well enough to drive with no worries?
I think the same John. IIRC correctly I got them from an 88 XJ Laredo and were the only ones I had seen with the fabric. All the rest were with the goofy center hole or all vinyl.
Another difference in the headrests were that some had the matching fabric on the headrest instead of an all-vinyl headrest. Anyone else have headrests like these?
