  2. ^^^ This. Must have tool. Just for grins cut off a hunk of 1/2" or so vacuum hose, stick one end in your ear, then the other end into the carb intakes one by one while idling. Guarantee you will hear each of them sucking at a different pitch. You can get them pretty close by adjusting the idle needles on each. Then observe the butterfly opening on each carb when opening the throttle linkage to the stop. Adjust the linkage so each carb butterfly opens the same amount. You can fab a feeler gauge to do this. That will get you in the ballpark. The vacuum hose works great on Brit and Swedish cars with side draft SU's and Webers, but I've never tried it with the Corvair Rochester carbs.
  3. Wow, Jeez, then maybe you guys should list your junk on Ebay and cash in? Obviously not every MJ aficionado isn't a member here as they should be.
  4. I'm looking for about 3" of lift which is why I brought this group buy back up :D I'm going for pretty much the same set up as you. About 2-3" lift, 31's, and 2wd. Eventuallt a 4.7 will be in play!
  5. Lots of innovative and "out of the box" ideas incorporated in this truck, and they all go together well. Gorgeous truck and well done.
  6. Sarcasm. The steering wheel is from an 80's Buick Regal Turbo w. a Jeep badge on it.
  7. Same to you John. :rotfl2:
  8. That'll do it. A bit of a long reach across the cab though......
  9. Now here's a man who knows what he's talking about.
  10. How did you check it? Gene
  11. Jeep never offered EURO tail lamps for the MJ export models so they shouldn't be required since they were never manufactured. There were however amber parking lights offered for the front which are still available from aftermarket sources and occasionally as NOS originals; you will need these in Spain. Side turn signals may also be required (you can see them below on the fender) as the European export models were fitted with them from the factory. Also you will be required to add a stand-alone red rear fog lamp like the below. There are many mfg's for these and you can wire it up to your fog lamp switch if you have one.
  12. If you know how to read the narrow bands the info they provide is as good as the wide band meters.
  13. Narrow band A/F gauge?
  14. Do I need to worry about re-indexing if I'm just replacing the distributor cap, rotor, plug wires, and plugs? Was going to try and get to that this weekend $5 says you'll get the plug wires crossed. I know I've done it before. :rotfl2: Now I feel obligated to do it right and prove you wrong! When changing out plug wires I'm real anal about the routing and how they look. I'll screw around with them for hours trying to get them right and not look like a rat's nest. In a regulation factory set of wires each wire is a different length and some of the plug connectors are straight while others are 90*. If your wires look similar to the below it's easy; just pull one wire at a time and replace with a similarly configured wire. But usually there's some off-brand universal wire set on it and they look like crap. They should look something like this when you're done: FILE PICTURE
  15. I think I was the first on the forum to buy a set of these MT springs back in 06. Be prepared for about 3" of lift from where you are now if they are still manufactured like mine were. So check your rear shock travel for full extension. Mine were okay. These are nice springs and worth the $$.

  17. The one in the rear first pic is gone. It took up too much console storage space. Yes, that's my original carpet. They are.
  18. Got tired of the useless Ikea soap dish I put in my console shifter hole a few years ago........... .......so fabbed a new cover plate and put in a real cup holder. It holds a beer can well too.
  19. Check the bushing on the end of the shift cable for slop, then adjust the cable. http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Transmission_and_Transfer_Case/Transmission_Automatic_Shifter_Adjustments.htm
  20. Remember the Camaro Z28 "rope" steering wheels? Image Not Found I had one of those on my truck a few years ago...
  21. Yep, that's a 4WD steering wheel. Very rare item.
