  1. I've actually got that square plug on the harness, could it just be plugged in even with a manual tranny? Figure I could get 2 birds with one stone and water proof both connectors. Have any brands you'd recommend?
  2. Turns out your very right. I tested my throttle by "flooring" it, and when I let it reset the TPS stuck, got a screw driver and unjammed it. Took it off, cleaned it throughly and it doesn't stick quite as bad, but at least it's a temporary fix for my idle. Thanks for that heads up! You say the auto tps will work also? Awesome, rock auto has the manual tps for almost $100, but the auto for $20. I went to a junkyard today that had atleast 10 renix era cherokees and one comanche. ALL of them were scrapped, and I was left with a 98, 99 and 00 XJ. I couldn't believe they cleaned house like that.
  3. This was actually posted before: http://comancheclub.com/topic/39249-oh-my-god/ Enjoy reading the replies, haha.
  4. Or this:
  5. Well, It idles high again, about 2500 RPM. Let me tell you the scenario leading up to it: On the highway going about 70, fifth gear at about 2000 rpm. I jumped out of my seat to stretch really quick and accidentally floored the pedal. It didn't race, stutter, nothing bad happened, just gained a bit more speed. I run into some traffic and slow to a stop. I hear the engine racing a bit, look down and it's stuck at 2000 rpm. Normal for me is about 800 to 1000 idle. I checked all my vacuum lines with carb cleaner, but couldn't test much more. Did I knock something lose or what? Doesn't make much sense to me. The throttle body seats correctly at idle, also, so that rules out something happening to the throttle linkage.
  6. I'm trying to diagnose a problem I've been having with my electrical, and I'm pretty sure I've narrowed it down to the alternator. Just had the battery checked and the cells are good. I'll list the issues, and maybe you guys can confirm it's the alt: My volt meter reads low at idle, around 11 or 12 At higher rpm, it reads just under 14. If my headlights are on and I hit the brakes, they dim If I have a turn signal on at idle, the volt meter fluctuates. If the battery is disconnected, the engine dies I think that's enough to go on to diagnose it. I also have a question about the alternator I should pick up. There are quite a few options ranging from 60 to over 100 amps. I've got external lights and a few high demand accessories, but don't have an A/C or any of that fancy stuff. Would it be a wise investment to grab a higher amp alt? Any brands better than others? I've heard alot of times alts are doa, I'd like to avoid that as much as possible, especially if I'm ordering online. Help is appreciated, as always.
  7. That extra 7/10th of a cylinder is probably the towing package, kicks in under a heavy load. It is a dodge, so it is very much that unique kind of "special".... This is a dealer for Gods sake, how can the ad be so misprinted? Entertaining find, nonetheless.
  8. I had to do a double take with that photo, where did you get an RC MJ? That's awesome.
  9. You and me both, Gotta let you know it's pretty futile asking for anything an ax15 uses, especially the crossmember, mounting bracket and t-case linkages. You'd be better off looking in a junkyard, and I've been to several across 3 states with no luck. That Novak is probably your best bet, and I've heard nothing but good things about it, and how much better it is than the stock linkage. Good luck on your search.
  10. $300? You forgot to tell us what's wrong with it, haha. That is a STEAL.
  11. Off topic, but the Dana 30 is an American made axle, and the hole is for use with a standard 3/8" drive ratchet or extension..... Whoa, hang on. I know it's hard to tell because I had to scale the picture down so much, but that is the back of a peugeot. I would never talk bad about any dana axle, not even a 35.
  12. I'm just gonna leave this here... I wheeled a john boat today, gave my MJ a run for it's money.
  13. Here's another comparison, this is from a 99 XJ: Automatic, which is the reason I don't have a boot on the console. I've always liked the later center consoles, something to think about.
  14. ..As his wife was pestering him about what color the carpet in heaven should be. I think "they" chose white.
  15. Eh, I cringe at the sound of Dodge. I've owned/driven Neons, caravans, conversion vans and even the new Chargers, they break when you look at em wrong. I'm intrigued by what you say, however. What makes the /6 so reliable?
  16. What I would give for that cross member and mounting bracket... I paid 280 for my ax15, 39 for the np231j and 20 for the front driveshaft. Geonovast would know best for the price, but you can reference the prices I paid also.
  17. I've heard of this problem when using an aw4 t-case linkage with any other tranny, like an ax15, because auto tranny/t-case combos are longer. But as far as I know the pukey and ax15 4wd are the same length, thus the linkage should be the same. I know this doesn't help your problem, just stating what I've been told.
  18. I like this idea, I too have sold alot on the forums, it'd be great to give the buyer some peace of mind when dealing with a stranger online.
  19. 22 gallons of beer in a year? They don't know me! haha
  20. Might need to take him outta part time for awhile. A similar thing happened to mine. We were at the park, came home and that evening she started to not use her front left paw. The next morning she was crying in pain. Took her to the vet, found some swelling. She sprained it really bad, probably twisting it. I thought it was weird that it took so long to affect her.
  21. That's a good lookin truck, I'm likin the camo. How big are those tires? You find a good spot?
  22. Forgot about this thread, time to update: About to be swapped in: Little family reunion. (left to right 99, 88, 97)
  23. Blind spots? In an MJ? No way, haha. I think it may be more work than it's worth. From the looks of it, you'd lose your sun visors, and the MJ, my experience atleast, has no blind spots except for the passenger side pillar, which I just lean a bit forward to overcome.
  24. That's highly unlikely as it uses a 12 VDC @ 1000 mA power cube. That's only 12W of power. The average household refrigerator uses about 8KW per hour. What? The internet was wrong? It can't be! haha. That surely does make sense now that you shed some light on it. Either way, a new modem couldn't hurt, technology only improves....I'm looking at you Dell
  25. I've heard some older modems use as much power as a refrigerator, might be time to get a newer, more power friendly model.
